Review: Unforgivable (Tracers #3) by Laura Griffin (Goodreads Author)

Unforgivable (Tracers #3)Unforgivable by Laura Griffin
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I have been looking forward to the smart DNA Tracer at the Adelphi Centre, Mia Voss's book since she first made her appearance in Untraceable, the 1st book in Laura Griffin's Tracers Series.

This is her and Detective Ric Santos', who we met in the 2nd book, Unspeakable, story.

I had high expectations but unfortunately they were not quite met. There were a few issues that left me feeling very disappointed.

Mia becomes a totally different character to what she has been previously portrayed. She's like this insecure person who does the most stupid things possible - the most stupid??? How she lets herself be manipulated by everyone around her...never mind manipulation...but hey, to allow Ric to treat her the way he does.....and how she deals with being blackmailed by the bad guy who supposedly has kidnapped her nephew..........Ric........I just couldn't get this guy!!! He blows hot and cold towards Mia. One minute he ignores her than he wants her. He feels nothing...then he worries about her safety..........come on................he acts beyond an idiot...Most of the time - my feelings were that Ric was not really into her...in fact I would have liked her to have been coupled with someone more interesting...........actually, I wanted to tell her on numerous occasions............Chemistry!! What chemistry???????

Then there's the plot..............talk about absurd!!! The reason for Mia being in danger.........really!!!! Didn't feel real.....and the bad guys!!!! No, totally not exciting at all.

I was so sorry that I couldn't engage with Mia in this book............to be honest, I liked some of the secondary characters more..........especially Mia's work colleague at the Delphi Centre, Sophie. Now that character's story I am so looking forward to.

So, let me end this by saying...........it's not a horrible book........just an okay one.

Review: Eyes to the Soul (Psychic Visions, #7) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Eyes to the Soul (Psychic Visions, #7)Eyes to the Soul by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3,5 stars

Eyes to the Soul is Book #7 in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series and we finally get Stefan Kronos (my favorite character in this series) story. We finally get to find out more about his past and who he has been in love with for a long time.

I have mixed feelings about this book - that's not saying that I didn't like the story - I did - it's just that there were a couple of things that bugged me a bit.

The storyline was fresh and unique and kept me at the edge of my seat a few times.

I liked the bit we get of Stefan's back-story but just thought it was not enough. The same with Celina's back-story. There are a lot of questions about their pasts

I admired Celina for the way she lived and how she looked at life - but at times she did drive me a bit batty with some of the things she did.

Previous characters that I have come to like are woven into this story and I loved how the characters interact with each other.

The twists and the identity of the bad guy were pretty well done...I never had an inkling on who it was....surprised surprised!!!

I liked the cover.

I certainly can recommend this series to anyone who loves suspense, romance, paranormal and some great and memorable characters.

Review: Rare Find (Psychic Visions, #6) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Rare Find (Psychic Visions, #6)Rare Find by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rare Find, book #6 in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series.

Tabitha's psychic gift is her ability to communicate with animals. She runs Exotic Landscape, where she tends to animals in need.

She was introduced in Knock Knock, the previous book in this series and this is her story. Something bad happens when she helped someone and Detective Ronin Chandler helps her uncover the danger she's facing.

The psychic phenomena does become a bit confusing at times but it doesn't detract anything major from the storyline.
I do enjoy characters from the previous books interacting in the story....

Oh - my favourite character in this book?? Without a doubt - the green-eyed Tiger

And the cover - stunningly gorgeous!!

I didn't love this one as much as I did book #1, Tuesday's Child but it was still a good addition to a series that I am becoming something like addicted to the stories and characters.

Review: Knock, Knock… (Psychic Visions, #5) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Knock, Knock… (Psychic Visions, #5)Knock, Knock… by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I've read 3 books in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series so far and I must admit I am kind of hooked. I like how the romance, suspense and psychic/paranormal genres merge in the stories.
Knock, Knock is the 5th book in the series.

I liked the storyline and there was enough suspense (though a bit slow at times) to keep my interested and though I liked the hero I did find the heroine a bit irritating at times. I also felt a lack of chemistry between the heroine, wealthy and beautiful Shay Lassiter, who uses her money to run the non-profit Lassiter Foundation and ex-cop and computer genius Roman Chandler.

I enjoyed meeting up with Maddy, from Maddy's Floor, the 3rd book and Stefan, introduced in Tuesday's Child, the 1st book in the Series. Now, he's an interesting character and I can't wait for his book.

A quick and enjoyable read.

Review: Dear Agony by Georgia Cates (Goodreads Author)

Dear AgonyDear Agony by Georgia Cates
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Aunt Agony by Georgia Cates is more than just a truly an awe-inspiring, uplifting, heart-warming and beautifully written love story. It's s story about two unlikely people, Bastien Pascal, a successful and very rich and lonely man and Rose Middleton, homeless in the streets of New Orleans, who is given a chance to change her life.

It's a story about life and how you deal with the good and bad things that are thrown at you. It makes you question the meaning of your life. The people you love. The fear of loss. And I far you will go and how much you will do for the person you love.
What does a woman do when the man she loves is planning his own demise?
She gives him something to live for.
I couldn't put this book down. It just grabbed me..........Rose and Bastien's story is bittersweet and gut-wrenching. It's filled with love. Pain. Hope. And never giving up. The pull at my heart-strings had me almost in tears near the end of the story.
 photo 7506828_zpsdvjh8cnu.gif
The plot is incredible......not going to give out any spoilers...I think that the cover blurb tell it all. Just that it's brilliantly written ....The author's words are sheer poetry......
Dying and Falling in Love
The Two Just Don't Go Together
I loved the way Bastien and Rose's characters are developed. We get to see the growth of their relationship, the deep love that surrounds them.............

The Epilogue...Wow....I wanted to sob!!! But it was the right ending, the most true and believable, even when it breaks your heart, you are still left with "what if a miracle had to happen" feeling.
I see the conflict in his eyes but it's unnecessary.
Healthy....Sick....I don't care.
I want him exactly how he is.
I hope that there's going to be a follow-up to this book. Would love to see what happens next to Bastien, Rose and their kids and also how about a book for Rose's boss! Now there's a mysterious woman!!!!

This is one story that will remain with me for a very long time.

Review: The Wingman by Natasha Anders (Goodreads Author)

The WingmanThe Wingman by Natasha Anders
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

1,5 stars The half star because I liked the setting and I like the author!

I so wanted to like this book. Really!!

Firstly....I like this author, Natasha Anders and I loved two of her books...well, one, not so much!
Secondly.....I had this hope Wingman would be a "sparkler" and hey....it's about a pilot!!! Right, Wingman!

WRONG...WRONG....WRONG!!

Wingman is just as awful as A Ruthless Proposition and it's not about a pilot...not even close!! The book title refers go: the hero being is brother's "wingman" - keep the heroine busy whilst the hero's brother tries to get off with heroine's sister!!!! Talk about tacky!~~

Okay, the first few pages were promising.....but after Chapter 1..........let me clarify my dislikes in the shortest way possible...don't want to do a looooong rant!!

The hero.........Mason Carlisle, town's bad boy made good, ex SAS soldier, ex famous underwear model, ex owner of security company to the stars and royalty, who only dates beautiful models and even a Princess or two......blushes, yes, his face reddens, when the heroine, jokingly tells him that there is a website in their local town dedicated to him!!!! Seriously, he blushes~!!!Excuse me for a second.........
 photo tumblr_ms6420MAzP1swgcako1_250_zps9kieye7g.gif
His this guy for real!!!!!

The heroine..............Daisy McGregor, the girl from the right side of town aka her family has money, the hero's doesn't! I tried to like...actually, I liked her in the first few chapters..but then..OMG...her whole feel sorry for me please...
 photo tumblr_mmgz9zwB2I1snhqsko1_400_zpsg8iorxf2.gif
See, Daisy has two sisters....

Dahlia aka THE PRETTY ONE
Daffodil aka THE CUTE ONE
And Daisy aka THE OTHER ONE...you know, the ugly duckling, the fat one~!!
Girl, get a life. You don't like your big butt or your rolling waist....exercise and get it together instead of bemoaning your lot!!

The chemistry between these two just wasn't there. He thought she wasn't that attractive but he wanted to "bonk" her...nothing else. And she....not sure what she wanted from him...apart from him(view spoiler)Now, if you've read my spoiler and you think that's bad...wait, there's worse...the hero doesn't realize that the heroine is a virgin..uh..uh...she has to tell him and he's beyond surprised!!!OMG...idiot is too good a word to describe him!

The secondary characters..........OMG....the heroine's sisters friends were beyond a caricature!!! Too stupid and dunce heads galore!!! Other characters were totally unforgettable!!

And then...when the heroine goes off by herself to a very dangerous place to help the poor and needy..........I just couldn't.........
 photo Shake-My-Head-I-Cant-Gif-_zpsbrt1n0cr.gif
The scenes with the heroine's parents when the hero (view spoiler)I actually broke out by this time...yes guys, I persevered with the story...yes, give me some kudos for my tenacity......but this did help me in some small way..
 photo tumblr_mvzm4wir1r1qbxtgwo3_250_zps4bv7kp4h.gif

Anyway, before I actually turned the last page...well, a long time before........I had these really horrible thoughts in my head towards old Mason and Daisytjie!!! (that means little Daisy!!!!)
 photo 9650d90f2fb8633cd5f548df903bb172_zpsvq3jkoem.gif
Although this was not a book for me, I am sure there's a lot of others out there that will like it...that it does something to them.......to me......it did zero!!!

Forsaking Gray (The Colloway Brothers, #1)Forsaking Gray by K.L. Kreig
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

2,5 stars

This was moi........whilst turning the pages of Forsaking Gray the 1st book in K.L. Kreig's The Colloway Brothers Series......
 photo Needaliftpostonehappyimagegifattheend_7679d7_5257818_zps1bhmghjo.gif
.....I should have screamed out louder!!! Because Gray and Olivia's story is all about........MISCOMMUNICATIONS...
 photo tenor_zpsamiuf9wb.gif
....if only these two "knuckleheads" didn't go through all those MISUNDERSTANDS.......
 photo 8b6Twka_zps0mftqy83.gif
........they would have avoided so much pain and heartache...but no! They do it the hard way!!

Look, I liked Gray most of the times. How he put up with Livia is beyond me. She was one of the reasons that I couldn't get into these two HEA!!!

Okay, she did go through hell...but did she have to handle it the way she did!!! Why not open up to Gray right away and try and make things work out! But no, she has to go off, go through more pain herself..never mind what Gray goes through. And even when they get together again..she still has doubts about his feelings!!!! REALLY, ARE YOU FOR REAL GIRL!!!

I felt the story could have been wrapped up much quicker. It started to drag for me towards the end.

This was just an okay for me. However, I am interested in following this series as there were other characters in this story that made me want to know more about them.

Review: The Devil's Triangle (A Brit in the FBI, #4) by Catherine Coulter (Goodreads Author), J.T. Ellison (Goodreads Author)

The Devil's Triangle (A Brit in the FBI, #4)The Devil's Triangle by Catherine Coulter
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

1,5 stars

I have been reading books by Catherine Coulter for years and years and must say that I have liked most of them. I have also read the first 3 books in her A Brit in the FBI Series that she has co-written with J.T. Ellison.

This series started off pretty good with the first book but by the time I finished book 3, I was feeling a bit up in the "air" about it. However, I couldn't resist when the latest and 4th book, The Devil's Triangle came out.

Was I surprised...and not in a ever good way!!! Talk about lacklustre feels!!! I struggled to finish this book but I kept on in the hope that something would happen...something good that would uplift this story!!

Sadly..it didn't!!! Not even all the action scenes and meeting up with Nicholas Drummond, my favourite FBI Brit and feisty American cop, Michaela aka Mike Caine and even my favourite thief, Kitsune, who was introduced in the first book, The Final Cut, could throw some interest my way!!!

Let me just say the following:

The plot - Beyond Ridiculous!!! Some evil people trying to control the world's weather, throw in a bit of the paranormal, the long search for the so called Ark of the Covenant, stealing Moses, yes, the old Bible Moses' staff from the Topkapi Museum, vanishing islands in the Bermuda Triangle, evil twins.........hell, I lost the plot so many times that after a while I just kept skimming.
 photo DwrnYsZCXspu8_zpsvbtkp2az.gif
a couple of pages here and there....because there was so much repetition..........

The characters - Now, let's talk about the many and many and may one-dimensional characters!!! Everyone has their own POV!!!! Which was beyond irritating!!!
Absurd.........the way the Italian cops are portrayed....I had to laugh otherwise I would be crying about how stupid and inept they are!!! Naturally the Brits/Americans are the only characters that are honest, intelligent and kick ass without a second thought.
Nicholas and Mike spend more time debating about Kitusune and having the most outrages escapades ever!!!! They even get to ride a huge bike in a tunnel underneath a palazzo in Perugia (geez, now I want to go back to Perugia and check out which palazzo it is so I can also go for a ride!!)

The dialogue- No, No, No. Stilted! Unnatural!! Wooden! And I lost count of how many times we are told about Kitsune being a thief, should she be imprisoned......and how clever so and so is...and so on and so on...........

The Epilogue-
 photo raw_zpsoeruubnz.gif
But let me not discourage you to reading this addition to the series. There are a lot of others who loved it, so you may as well do.........the fact that I didn't enjoy it...well, that's just me!!!!

PS.........The reason for 1/2 star - because I liked the settings of the book, especially Italy!!!!!

Review: Lost in Between (Finding Me, #1) by K.L. Kreig (Goodreads Author)

Lost in Between (Finding Me, #1)Lost in Between by K.L. Kreig
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Lost in Between the 1st book in Finding Me Duet, is the second book by K L Kreig that I've read. The first one, Black Swan Affair was not one of my favourites, so I was hoping that this one would surprise me.

Surprised me it did...in such a good good way!!
We all have one.
A price.
That magic number that will get us to agree to do anything, be anything.
Don’t sit on your gold-plated high horse and say you don’t because you do. Everyone does. Each of us has something we covet enough that we’d sell ourselves to have it.
Shaw Mercer, Seattle billionaire playboy needs a temporary girlfriend to keep the paparazzi in line during his father's election as the city's mayor.
“Shaw’s presence is commanding, absolute. A force to be reckoned with. So, I expect him to claim, own, invade. But he doesn’t. He takes his time, imprinting me instead. Slowly branding me as promised, drawing my top lip in between his before doing the same to the bottom.”
Willow Blackwell, beautiful, smart, working two jobs to pay her mothers' medical bills. Her day job is a narrator of romance audio books (I loved that) and her other job is an escort/companion to rich men.....
“We look pretty, we adorn our clients, we dote, we mingle, we act the part we’re given, and we go home at the end of the ‘date’ a few hundred or thousand dollars richer, with our legs shut and our pride intact.”
What I liked about this book

* The two main characters. Shaw Mercer is without a doubt an alpha-male but he has a softness and kindness that shines out in the way he interacts with his family, friends and Willow. He's sexy, hot and totally interesting.

I adored Willow. There's a lot of secrets she keeps back. I found her endearing and very likeable. Her kindness and understanding truly shines out of her.

* The chemistry between Shaw and Willow - I thought the build-up was done very well....as was the development of their relationship.

* Great dialogue - witty, real and some really hot and dirty talk between the two main characters.

* Fantastic secondary characters. Liked the family dynamics and am most interest in finding out more about Noah and Sierra.

* The story is told in dual POV - Shaw and Willow's which gives you a good insight into their heads and their feelings.

* The twist at the end that leaves you with a cliff-hanger of note.

This was such a great book and I can't wait for the next book to discover more about Willow and where she and Shaw go from here.
 photo 7dREgQp_zpsgwo3ljla.gif
My favourite quote:

‘It takes a special girl to open a boy’s eyes to what’s right in front of him, Willow. But when he realizes it, he’ll fight to the death for her and only her. Don’t settle until you find that man.’

Black Swan AffairBlack Swan Affair by K.L. Kreig
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Allright.......Everyone seems to LOVE this book!!! I am in the minority here.....so don't let me be the one to stop you from reading it........it's just that this story didn't do it at all for me!!!

Briefly...we have Maverick, who's been in love with Killian for yonks. She's also best friends with his brother Kael.
KIllian drops Maverick and marries her sister, Jillian!! Maverick, who's still in love with Killian marries his brother, Kael, who has been in love with her for yonks!!!!

Talk about a confusion...you're confused.....
 photo 200_s_zps2c4guhvl.gif
........... let me take a moment here........all that nonsense of Maverick wondering why why did Killian drop me!!!! Oh, I'm better off without him!!!! And that has all hot sex with Kael whilst thinking of Killian!!! Are you kidding me!!!!And secrets....and more secrets...........I just couldn't be bothered with finding out what they were.....in fact, I found myself doing a lot of this as I turned the pages..........skimming and skipping........and not exactly happy skipping moments..........
 photo happy-my-little-ponies_zps5aep3yx3.gif
And then all that back and forwards between the different times and the different POV's of the characters......the worst being Kael......I cannot believe that he loved such a selfish and idiotic and self-cantered person like Mavs!!!!! Get a life Kael...please!!

I gave up eventually.......after nearly pulling off most of my hair!!
 photo tumblr_inline_ncdqyf3qWM1t0c08n_zpsxebf7px6.gif
When the huge secret is revealed.........I couldn't give a toss..........but if you do, then read the book yourself!!!

Review: Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle (Goodreads Author)

Wardrobe MalfunctionWardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4,5 stars

Wardrobe Malfunction by Samantha Towle was such a delightful and enjoyable read.

I just love Hollywood romances and even more when the movie superstar falls in love with a normal and regular person............and this is exactly what happens to Hollywood superstar, Vaughn West when he meets wardrobe assistant, Charlotte (Charly) Michaels.

The story starts off with a bang..........Vaughn discovers that his girlfriend has been cheating with his best friend on national television!!!! He goes on a sex, drugs, drink binge and he's given a final chance to get back into his game!!! Give up drink, partying and WOMEN!!!

Charly is hired to work as the wardrobe assistant on Vaughn's new movie. Her job is to look after his wardrobe during the shoot. She's hyper excited.......after all, she's had a crush on the heartthrob and here she is - up close and personal! Could things be any better!!!
“Where do you want me?”
Is that a trick question? I cough. “Just over here, please.” He walks toward me, and my vagina thuds in time with his footsteps"
Their first meeting has to be one of the most memorable of all time - Charly's first assignment is a fitting with Vaughn.....
"I'm on my knees in front of Vaugn West. Sure, I'm only pining his pants, but still...................
Nothing to difficult...right!!! What could possibly go wrong??? It was the most hysterical and funny scenes ever.....
“ “I just stabbed Vaughn West in the cock with a pin.
I just stabbed the world’s biggest movie star. With a pin. In his cock.”
But wait....even funnier is what Charly does for Vaughn to make sure that his "family jewels" are "looked" after...
“ “This woman, whom I’ve known for less than a day, who stabbed me in the ball sack, has made me a cock warmer.”

Vaughn has to be one of the most likable and endearing movie stars!!! In fact, I found him to be so nice and normal if that's even possible in Hollywood today.
Charly was another engaging and appealing character. I adored her sassiness, kindness, and independence and that fact that she wasn't afraid to speak her mind was another admirable quality of hers.
“I know this is how it’s always going to be with Charly and me. And I like it. I like the challenge she gives me.”
I adored these two together. Loved their banter, their interaction and also that this wasn't an insta-love kind of story!!! You get to see the friendship and attraction develop and grow into something more.
The sparks fly between these two - the chemistry made for some hot and steamy moments....
“ “And the King of Hollywood spends the next thirty minutes making me come with his mouth and then fucking me from behind like I’m a whore, but the whole time, he still manages to make me feel like a queen.”
There were some great secondary characters but my favorite one was definitely Vaughn's grandmother! I absolutely loved her!!!

Great epilogue. Great writing. Fabulous characters. Sweet and romantic love story............if you want a smile on your face when reading a book......grab this one!!

PS....The reason for 4,5 stars........hated the cover and I thought Charly's secret was a bit of a "stretch".......

Okay, got to go..........
 photo 1436559589-giphy-54_zpsqo0a1kua.gif

 photo download_zpshfgxkjsj.jpg
...yes, La La Land...and no, I am not going to meet Vaughn West....I know, I know, he's gorgeous....

..but I'll leave him for Charly!!!

Hey, have you started page 1 yet????

Throne of Truth (Truth and Lies Duet, #2)Throne of Truth by Pepper Winters
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

1,5 stars

Okay...I'm going to be a bit....not more than a bit...unpopular here!!!! Now, before you all LOVERS of Pepper Winters follow up to the amazing Crown of Lies (which I more than loved....see my review here ... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... ).....try to "diss" me or even think of doing worse than that...like ...
 photo merida_brave2_zps9vtmuclv.gif
.......let me quickly explain why I was beyond DISAPPOINTED in Throne of Truth!!!

PS....There may be a few minor spoilers...but nothing major!!

Now, I loved Noelle "Elle" Charleston and Penn Everett in the first b0ok. There was something charming about these two together and when we were left with the cliff-hanger.....I just wanted to "dive" in!!!!

No, No, No!!!! Talk about rolling my eyes.........
 photo 2dvk39k_zpsw5ym1zp3.gif
Not only did I have to put up with one third of the story about the stupid and implausible Elle's kidnapping.....which after a chapter or two.....I found myself .........
 photo images_zpsuf6r2kjy.jpg
YES, THERE WAS A LOT OF EYE ROLLING AROUND WHILST I WAS TURNING THE PAGES...........

Oh, yes, where was I....okay, so the kidnapping is over..........thank heavens!!! On with something exciting next...but NO!!!! I had to put up with even more UNBELIEVABLE stuff re: US LAWS ............now, I am not totally in the know about the laws in America...but even so....I know for a fact that what happens to Penn after Elle is rescued, could not possible happen!!!! MORE EYE ROLLING!!!! All the drama whilst Penn is jailed for not a day, not two days...but more like weeks...or months!!! Can't remember....but .......
 photo 46277ce55491846926b5080af8441850_zpszkuczg1d.gif
And what happened to feisty and interesting Elle???? She morphed into someone that's totally unrecognisable from the 1st book.........and Penn.........let me not even go there!!!

Let me conclude this rant........I lost interest in the characters and what happens to them....before the end...I couldn't give a toss!!!!

PS......The reason for 1/2 star..........I actually like the author's writing style!!!

I certainly wasn't expecting the way the story went!!! But hey, I'm in the minority here...so if you want to give this book a try...no, if you've read book 1, then you should probably give this a try..me....no, Throne of Truth ain't gonna be a reread or a keeper for me!!

Review: Brighter than the Sun (KGI, #11) by Maya Banks (Goodreads Author)

Brighter than the Sun (KGI, #11)Brighter than the Sun by Maya Banks
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I can't believe I finished this book!!!!

Brighter than the Sun is the 11th book in Maya Banks' KGI Series..........why I even bothered reading this one after the last two books being so MEH MEH MEH.....I have no idea!!

I liked the first couple of books in the series but I am just so ready to give up on continuing!!!
Let me note down some of the things that really really drove me to drink!!!!!!

* This is supposed to be Joe Kelly's story...but what we get here!!! We get pages and pages and more pages of the whole Kelly Clan.......the men, their wives, their kids, how much they love each other......
 photo 1fe7e833d6713039d969597d8a9718f8_zpskr5sunoj.gif
By Chapter 4.....I'm so like..........
 photo Tired-Bored-Boring-So-Tired-Sleepy-GIF_zps11pgxukf.gif
But, I continued!!!!

* Everyone in the Kelly world is wonderful...nice....kind....loving.....beautiful..........
 photo 8d9aac703f63e9e1e128260e2ddbb0d4_because-who-doesnt-put-movie-bridesmaids-you-are-so-beautiful-gif_500-200_zpsihtpggjb.gif
By Chapter 7.....I'm now beyond....
 photo pqokgdz_zpshdftcyqr.gif
So, do I continue with this weird story???? Yes....I know, I'm a sucker for punishment!!

* INSTA-LOVE............JOE, the wannabe bachelor forever sees Zoe aka Stella for the first time....and ZAP............It's love love love.......he thinks she's wonderful...beautiful......
 photo izmuH3q_zps5z51eh53.gif
He takes her fishing and what happens....yes, he thinks she's more than just beautiful....
 photo giphy-6_zpsashwyztq.gif
Yes, after two or three days....Joe is beyond smitten!!! He's found his soul mate!!! So what if he knows nothing about her life !!! Yes, folks, it's that inner feeling he has about perfection.......

And now we have ZOE aka STELLA running away from her very evil and criminal father and her boyfriend...who she discovers wants to do very nefarious deeds with her...and I don't mean lovemaking!!!! So, she runs away with the help of her best friend, Rusty Kelly and meets the Kelly clan and falls in love...not only with Joe but with all of THEM!!!

But, wait, there's a catch!!!

She doesn't think she's good enough for either Joe or his family!!!! Ooooh...so many tears......it was a total TEARFEST!!!
 photo bJJe72y_zpsl9tkyrfe.gif

* And then there's the most absurd plot ever!!! Let's just say that we get nothing about the bad guys...who they are...how they find Zoe, despite the disguise...yes, the baddies find her but the Kelly guys and all their "tools" never ever guess that she's in hiding!!! And if you think that's the most absurd thing...it's not!!! When the Kelly men come to Zoe's rescue...we never get to find out what they do or did to the bad guys!!! The baddies just POOF off the pages!!!

I can't continue with my "rant" anymore!!!! Just let me show you how I felt when I turned the last page...........
 photo Im-so-bored-GIFS_zpsgjlp1tlq.gif
So, if you're a fan of this series.....and you want to read this latest addition....and you're not bothered by having a total...........

Review: Black Hearts (Sins Duet, #1) by Karina Halle (Goodreads Author)

Black Hearts (Sins Duet, #1)Black Hearts by Karina Halle
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

After reading the last book by this author, Dirty Promises, which was the only one I have totally disliked by Karina Halle, I had extremely high hopes for Black Hearts, which is part of a duet and a spinoff of the other 3 Trilogies.

Well, to be honest - I more than disliked this book!!!!

I'm going to keep this short......why did I hate it!!

The main characters:

Vincent Bernal:
Javier Bernal's son. What a horrible creature. So, his life has been pretty so not amazing.....living as the son of a drug cartel boss has certainly not been easy! But seriously...is that reason enough for his cruelty, deviousness and disregard for human life! Did he not learn anything good from his mother and father??? Well, certainly not!! He kills the two men who his father sent to keep an eye on him in San Francisco, without batting an eyelid!! The lack of respect and the violence he displays towards Violet, the heroine's mother, is absolutely unacceptable. He has no compunction of lying, cheating and deceiving people.

Violet McQueen:
Ellie and Camden's daughter. Okay, she has reason to be angry at her parents for lying about their past but is it right for her to behave the way she does in retaliation. Forget the love they have shown her all her life...suddenly, she meets this guy and he becomes more important than her family??? She allows him to turn her against the very people who love her!!!

The Plot:
I found the story a bit too unbelievable!!!!
I also could not believe that Violet, who is supposedly innocent and sheltered, suddenly allows a man she meets a day or two before, to blindfold, tie her and photograph her nude!!!! Really!!!!
And please...............Javier is still holding a grudge against Ellie for choosing Camden over him.........20 years ago!!!! Get a life!!! I really hated Javier in this story!! And his wife, Luiza......where is the gutsy woman I first met in Dirty Angels!!!

Okay, so I will probably read the next book, Dirty Souls, because I want to know where the author takes the story to............but honestly, I am just hoping that I am going to be pleasantly surprised by the story!!!

PS.........I know I am in the minority here about this book!!! So, let me just add.........it's me!!! I didn't get it...but don't let me stop you from making up your own mind to read it or not!!

But let me say.........do it at your own PERIL!!!!
