BOOK REVIEW: INFINITY by SHERRILYN KENYON

Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I wasn’t sure what to expect of this book when I started reading it. I picked it up because it was one of Sherrilyn Kenyon’s books I had not read and also that it featured Nick Gautier one of my favorite characters in the Dark Hunter Series and did not realized it dealt with Nick’s life as a teenager before he met any Dark Hunters.

I liked finding out about his past, the close relationship he has with his stripper mother, the difficulties in trying to fit in at school, his courage and the moral code he lives by where he recognizes the difference between right and wrong, good and evil. He’s a really great character…streetwise, sarcastic and great sense of humor…  He soon discovers that there is a world out there that is dangerous and filled with bad things.
His life is filled with new friends – that he tries hiding from his mother…being grounded by her will not be a good option.

I loved seeing all those characters I have read in the Dark Hunter Series – Acheron (my most favorite of all the DH), Simi, Ash’s little demon who never goes anywhere without her BBQ sauce, Kyrian (Nick’s new boss!!), Tabitha….now I know how they met and how Nick comes into the DH books.
There’s lots of action, violence and I am sure that male y/a will have a blast reading this series….there’s no romance in this story…okay Nick does have a crush on some girl….but it’s really all about his teen life…

The amount of characters we meet in the book will probably confuse some new readers but I am sure that the continuing books in this series will have more information on them.
I enjoyed reading it and am looking forward to the next book.

Book Overview by Barnes and Noble:
At fourteen, Nick Gautier thinks he knows everything about the world around him. Streetwise, tough and savvy, his quick sarcasm is the stuff of legends. . .until the night when his best friends try to kill him. Saved by a mysterious warrior who has more fighting skills than Chuck Norris, Nick is sucked into the realm of the Dark-Hunters: immortal vampire slayers who risk everything to save humanity.
Nick quickly learns that the human world is only a veil for a much larger and more dangerous one: a world where the captain of the football team is a werewolf and the girl he has a crush on goes out at night to stake the undead.
But before he can even learn the rules of this new world, his fellow students are turning into flesh eating zombies. And he’s next on the menu.
As if starting high school isn't hard enough. . .now Nick has to hide his new friends from his mom, his chainsaw from the principal, and keep the zombies and the demon Simi from eating his brains, all without getting grounded or suspended. How in the world is he supposed to do that?
