The Marakaios Baby by Kate Hewitt
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3,5*
The Markaios Baby by Kate Hewitt is the follow up to The Marakaios Marriage https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... which I have been eagerly waiting for.
As expected from this author, it’s another intense and emotional story, filled with angst, conflict, romance and secrets.
Leo Marakaios, who we met in the previous book asks Margo Ferras to marry him after they have been together for two years, in a quite a weird relationship.
She refuses his proposal and to get rid of him, lies about having a new lover. She has a good reason to refuse she believes.
But after their last night of passion, she finds herself having to go back to Leo and ask him to marry her!!!
This is quite a tearjerker love story. Margo’s terrible past haunts her and it plays a huge part in how she deals with emotions and getting close and loving people. Leo is also trying to come to terms with his feelings towards his brother, Antonios.
At first, Margo annoyed me…why was she keeping so many secrets from Leo, who showed her so much kindness and understanding? And her behavior near the end was just so damn horrible…the way she treated Leo!!!!
It’s a well-written love story with engaging characters and a well-paced and interesting plot…. but it didn’t grab me as much as the 1st book.
