Review: Murder Game (GhostWalkers, #7) by Christine Feehan (Goodreads Author)

Murder Game (GhostWalkers, #7)Murder Game by Christine Feehan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Hummmm..........a bit disappointing...book #7 in Christine Feehan's Ghostwalkers Series...it was!!!

I liked the story line and Kaden and Tansy were likeable. However, I found their whole istant love a bit OTT...more like lust and sex......hell, the sex scenes just went on and on and on.........after a couple of the same repetitive words/actions, I started skimming and skimming and skimming.

Not exactly one of my favourites in this series. It was just okay.

Maybe I am just getting a bit tired of this series. I am finding the stories almost the same ...a change of names and some locations...and we have a new book!!!

Shadow's Seduction (Immortals After Dark, #17; The Dacians, #2)Shadow's Seduction by Kresley Cole
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

I struggled to finish this one.......there were a few times that I almost gave up...and the only reason I turned the last page was that I kept thinking it would get better.

There was something missing between the two mc's....I never felt a chemistry or connection there.

I love the IAD Series but I am not sure about The Dacians.

However, I do love KC so I am not giving up on the Immortals now!!

Review: Shadow's Claim (Immortals After Dark, #13; The Dacians, #1) by Kresley Cole (Goodreads Author)

Shadow's Claim (Immortals After Dark, #13; The Dacians, #1)Shadow's Claim by Kresley Cole
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Shadow's Claim is the 13th book in Kresley Cole's ever fabulous Immortals After Dark Series and the 1st in her The Dacians Series ...

Okay, so I am not sure why this book is part of the IAD Series......the only connection to that world is that the main character here , is one of Lothaire's many cousins, the assassin Trehan Daciano who made a very quick appearance at the end of Lothaire's book

Trehan is also the prince of the secret Vampire Realm Dacia, situated in the hell-plane of Abbaddon. He's been assigned to assassinate the realm's Princess Bettina's best friend who she just also happens to be in love with........blah blah blah!!!

Of course, when Trehan and Bettina lay eyes on each other. INSTANT LUST...ooh and then he discovers that she's actually his Bride...but she says no no no......PLEAZZZZZZZ!

I did like Trehan but Bettina not so much! In fact she was a pain in the butt for most of the story!!

I also had to stop a few times ....to think where does this story fit into the actual IAD Series!!

I'm not sure about the Dacian Series!!!

I miss the Valkyries!!!

Review: Eyes to the Soul (Psychic Visions, #7) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Eyes to the Soul (Psychic Visions, #7)Eyes to the Soul by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3,5 stars

Eyes to the Soul is Book #7 in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series and we finally get Stefan Kronos (my favorite character in this series) story. We finally get to find out more about his past and who he has been in love with for a long time.

I have mixed feelings about this book - that's not saying that I didn't like the story - I did - it's just that there were a couple of things that bugged me a bit.

The storyline was fresh and unique and kept me at the edge of my seat a few times.

I liked the bit we get of Stefan's back-story but just thought it was not enough. The same with Celina's back-story. There are a lot of questions about their pasts

I admired Celina for the way she lived and how she looked at life - but at times she did drive me a bit batty with some of the things she did.

Previous characters that I have come to like are woven into this story and I loved how the characters interact with each other.

The twists and the identity of the bad guy were pretty well done...I never had an inkling on who it was....surprised surprised!!!

I liked the cover.

I certainly can recommend this series to anyone who loves suspense, romance, paranormal and some great and memorable characters.

Review: Rare Find (Psychic Visions, #6) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Rare Find (Psychic Visions, #6)Rare Find by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Rare Find, book #6 in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series.

Tabitha's psychic gift is her ability to communicate with animals. She runs Exotic Landscape, where she tends to animals in need.

She was introduced in Knock Knock, the previous book in this series and this is her story. Something bad happens when she helped someone and Detective Ronin Chandler helps her uncover the danger she's facing.

The psychic phenomena does become a bit confusing at times but it doesn't detract anything major from the storyline.
I do enjoy characters from the previous books interacting in the story....

Oh - my favourite character in this book?? Without a doubt - the green-eyed Tiger

And the cover - stunningly gorgeous!!

I didn't love this one as much as I did book #1, Tuesday's Child but it was still a good addition to a series that I am becoming something like addicted to the stories and characters.

Review: Knock, Knock… (Psychic Visions, #5) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Knock, Knock… (Psychic Visions, #5)Knock, Knock… by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I've read 3 books in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series so far and I must admit I am kind of hooked. I like how the romance, suspense and psychic/paranormal genres merge in the stories.
Knock, Knock is the 5th book in the series.

I liked the storyline and there was enough suspense (though a bit slow at times) to keep my interested and though I liked the hero I did find the heroine a bit irritating at times. I also felt a lack of chemistry between the heroine, wealthy and beautiful Shay Lassiter, who uses her money to run the non-profit Lassiter Foundation and ex-cop and computer genius Roman Chandler.

I enjoyed meeting up with Maddy, from Maddy's Floor, the 3rd book and Stefan, introduced in Tuesday's Child, the 1st book in the Series. Now, he's an interesting character and I can't wait for his book.

A quick and enjoyable read.

Review: Wait for Dark (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit #17) by Kay Hooper

Wait for Dark (Bishop/Special Crimes Unit #17)Wait for Dark by Kay Hooper
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Wait for Dark by Kay Hooper is the 17th book in her Bishop/Special Crimes Unit Series. I have read most of the books in this series and I enjoyed the first couple of them. But it seems that this series is running out of steam for me...............in fact, I surprised myself that I actually finished reading until the end...because I suffered a headache every time I picked the book up!!!
 photo j3mrj8yn56e03c51e8ce6132229818_zpsawnt9fym.gif
The storyline is about four residents of Clarity, N.C., who suffer fatal “accidents” , totally unrelated, in a month. Unit chief Noah Bishop sends a team of four of his agents, Hollis Templeton and her partner, Reese DeMarco and two other agents - each have different psychic powers which they will use to solve the crimes.

Instead of working to finding the serial killer, we are given pages and pages and conversations and conversations about how their powers work, and how much they suffer from their powers, etc etc blah blah blah................

I wanted so much to give up on this book...but hey I persevered...after all I wanted to know who the bad and evil killer was!!! Let me just say, I had no idea whatsoever about the identity until the very end.......now, that should have been a huge surprise..yes it was in some way...but really!!!! Where did the killer come from???

Devil worship, paranormal, pentagrams, red herrings......heck.....enough!!!

I think I might just give this series a miss in the future!
Though I may read one or two of the ones I've missed previously!

I suppose if you are a fan of this series, you will probably want to read this one...but honestly....I cannot recommend it!! And yes, it's just me!!! You go ahead and make up your mind!!!!

Review: Into the Fire (Night Prince, #4) by Jeaniene Frost (Goodreads Author)

Into the Fire (Night Prince, #4)Into the Fire by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 1 of 5 stars

Into the Fire, the 4th and final book in the Night Prince Series....................to be honest............this book didn't do it for me!~!! At all!!!!!

The big Vlad and Leila love story finale!!! But where was the love, the romance????
It was a series of fights, and more fights...killings and more killings of bad guys!!! And Leila and Vlad dashing off from one place to another trying to find more bad guys to kill!!!

I liked Ian, the badass vampire we were first introduced in the Night Huntress Series but in this book he comes across as a really irritating and idiotic.....his lines were most of the time, really tasteless!!!
"Ah, Leotie, my beauteous poppet, I take back everything I said about you being an uppity crone. Take me to your bed, I promise endless delights. I'll even limit myself to tongues only. Always happy to accommodate a preference."

At first, I actually laughed at some of the things he comes out with but after a while, his lines become boring and monotonous - all this slapstick stuff!!!
"Grand," Ian said in a tone that implied he felt the opposite. "Does anyone else feel the sudden need for a shag?"
And....it just continues..................
"My jaw dropped. "You'd seriously bang a dragon?"

"Oh, for days," he responded at once. "Can you imagine the Internet videos? I'd be a bloody legend.”
This series started off well for me but as it progressed, I kind of felt a bit let down. I missed the romance and love that comes across in the Night Huntress Series - Cat & Bones....who never make an appearance in this book and which I really missed!!!!
The ending was meh!!!! Vlad and Leila go off into the sunset to have their HEA!!! Seriously!!! And it looks as if the next book is going to be Ian's......hopefully he's going to be a bit more deeper than we see in this story!!!

If you've read the previous 3 books and love Vlad and Leila, then you will have to read this book!..................like I did..............Despite my feelings.........

Review: Bound by Flames (Night Prince, #3) by Jeaniene Frost (Goodreads Author)

Bound by Flames (Night Prince, #3)Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3,5 stars

Bound by Flames by Jeaniene Frost is the 3rd book in the Night Prince Series, and continues the story of Vlad Dracul and Leila.

This was pretty dark. Leila is kidnapped, tortured, skinned alive, almost raped by the most evil and sinister and menacing vampire ever...Szilavyi, who is Vlad's enemy and who blows up Vlad's home!!! Most of the story is devoted to the horrible things that happens to Leila and Vlad. There wasn't much romance or sex here!!!

The ending felt a bit rushed and of course there's the cliff-hanger we left with, which we now have to wait for the next book to come out.

My favourite quotes:

“You’re mine,” he breathed against my neck when his lips left mine to travel lower. “Forever. Say it.” “I’m yours,” I swore, the words ragged from passion. “Forever. Now, take me and prove it.”

“Because love cuts deeper than the sharpest blade, cripples more than shattered bones, and leaves scars that can never fade.”

“I’d blush if I wasn’t undead,”

Review: Dark Crime (Dark, #27) by Christine Feehan (Goodreads Author)

Dark Crime (Dark, #27)Dark Crime by Christine Feehan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I think I'm giving up on what was one of my all-time favourite paranormal series, Dark Carpathians Series by Christine Feehan.

I was so hoping that the latest addition, Dark Crime would somehow be a "keeper"......I should have known that this being book #27....it could perhaps be a rehash of the previous books!!!! And of course it was..........the only good thing was that it was a novella instead of a full length book...otherwise I would have given up halfway...which I kept wanting to do!!!

Seriously, there is nothing new in this story. The uber alpha demands total obedience from the woman, who is again, fighting baddies...He comes to the rescue and within a chapter or two...it's sex and more sex and more pages and more sex and more pages....
 photo More-Sex_zpslzog1tye.gif
OOOps..got that wrong....she doesn't tell him she wants sex./....in fact, she says NO NO NO......
... But he insists!!! Demands she give him a blowjob!!! Seriously!!! And of course.........she gives in.......IDIOTA!!!!! Too stupid for me...............

I'm sorry Ms Feehan.........I have been one of your diehard fans...but your latest books have been such a letdown for me...........I'm going to give this series a rest for now.

Review: Maddy's Floor (Psychic Visions, #3) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Maddy's Floor (Psychic Visions, #3)Maddy's Floor by Dale Mayer
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Maddy's Floor is the 3rd book in Dale Mayer's Psychic Visions Series and this was one book I was so looking forward to.

MD Madeleine Wagner runs a floor in a hospital for terminal patients, known as Maddy's floor, where her psychic talent helps patients get better.

When some patients died under mysterious circumstances, Detective Drew McNeil, offers to help her with the investigation. And just in case you think there's some hot romance between these two...........so not!!! I felt no connection or chemistry with these two!!

Ooh, this story dragged on and on..........Maddy, Maddy, Maddy!!!! I just couldn't engage with the characters...yes, I know, Dr Maddy is a saint!!! See, it's pushed down your throat so much that after a while...I was like........
 photo tumblr_inline_n1h25lbMTa1raprkq_zps3rumba7l.gif
And the stilted dialogue....and talk about monologues.........
 photo giphy_zps5axecsf1.gif
The worst part in this book, for me, was the ending!!! Really!! Not only did it feel rushed but it made no sense to me. I suppose I could say that.......I lost the plot along the way............
 photo 853882_zpsnkzxcuyz.gif
Okay, I am going to read the next book in the series and hopefully it's going to get better!!!

Review: Hide'n Go Seek (Psychic Visions, #2) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Hide'n Go Seek (Psychic Visions, #2)Hide'n Go Seek by Dale Mayer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I was a bit disappointed in Hide 'n Go Seek, the 2nd book in Dale Mayer's paranormal/psychic Series.

It's not that I hated the story but there were a couple of things that "irritated" me!
Let me begin with the highest irritation:

I am not a prude whatsoever...I am know to use the f./....@@@ word at times......but hell, did the two mc's go out all the way with all the f@##$%$% and ass@@@@@ and douche bags........okay, so if it's once or twice or even three times...but no, the two continue the verbal sparring using those words over and over and over again.......
 photo 49f290b1c06a603102147216acb5fb13_zpsywt4a4wk.gif
Yes, Kali Jordan, well renowned search-and-rescue worker with psychic powers.....
 photo anigif_optimized-15502-1432402911-4_zpsvzunqhd4.gif
no, actually, she's a pretty committed worker with her adorable dog, Shiloh. Just that a couple of times I wanted to put a bar of soap in her and the hero, FBI agent, Grant Summers's mouths!!!

The story revolves around Kali being threatened by a serial killer, who sends her the most scary and frightening letters.

I wish there was more of a chemistry between the Kali and Grant.

I learnt a lot about rescue work........there were a lot and I mean a lot of pages about the ins and outs.

Will I continue reading this series? Yes, I think I'm going to.

It shows promise!!!

Review: Tuesday's Child (Psychic Visions, #1) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Tuesday's Child (Psychic Visions, #1)Tuesday's Child by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Tuesday's Child by Dale Mayer is the 1st book in her paranormal Psychic Visions Series and I am happy that I decided to continue with this series after receiving a free copy for an honest review by the author, which was the 10th ....Into the Abyss https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

This story revolves around Samantha Blair, a psychic woman who sees and feels people being murdered. She's wary about telling the police about these visions as she's been "burnt" when she previously had offered assistance.

When Detective Brandt Sutherland asks Sam for help with one of his cases, she agrees to work with him in finding the serial killer before he kills again and also before he kills her.

I liked the main characters and there are some great secondary characters introduced in this story, which I am so eager to discover more about....like the super psychic Stefan. I am so interested in finding out more about him and his powers.

This is another paranormal mystery, filled with suspense and intrigue and twists and twirls and turns...........okay, I might have guessed who the killer was half-way...but still surprised at the end!!

I liked the pacing of the story in though the ending felt a bit rushed.

A good start to the series.

Review: Into the Abyss (Psychic Visions, #10) by Dale Mayer (Goodreads Author)

Into the Abyss (Psychic Visions, #10)Into the Abyss by Dale Mayer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Into the Abyss by Dale Mayer is book 10 in her Psychic Visions Series.

This was the first book I've read by this author and I probably should have read the previous ones as at times I felt a bit "lost" in this story. There were characters that made an appearance that I didn't know where they fitted in

However, this is a minor "moan" and it didn't stop me from enjoying the story.
I found the main characters, Tavika Bantrell, homicide detective with psychic powers which she's trying to keep hidden from everyone, is suddenly thrown back in time...when her family had been murdered and their killer never found and Jericho Sands, a psychic hunter, who contacts her about the serial killer, known as the GHOST, very interesting.

Despite him offering her his help, Tavi is determined not to have anything to do with Jericho.
I enjoyed the premise of this series....psychic abilities to help in finding killers and bringing them to justice.

Suspense, twists and turns that keep you guessing until the very end.

After finishing this book, I am definitely going to read the entire series next.

I was given a free copy by the author for an honest review.

Review: Phantom Kiss (Chicagoland Vampires, #12.5) by Chloe Neill (Goodreads Author)

Phantom Kiss (Chicagoland Vampires, #12.5)Phantom Kiss by Chloe Neill
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Merit and Ethan,
 photo 16116217_zpshiiyvq5b.gif
one of my favorite vampire characters from Chloe Neill's fabulous Chicagoland Vampires Series, are back in a short novella and book #12,5 in the series.

Despite being a quick read, we do get to see the romantic side of their romance...their upcoming wedding plans......such fun to see her family trying to take over!!!!!

We meet up with most of the series characters - which was a total bonus for me. The plot revolves around a ghost and the two embark on solving the mystery with the help Annabelle, the necromancer and the CPAN (Chicago Paranormal Action Network), which is run by Merit's grandfather.

I am not that crazy about the short stories that the author's throw in between full length books......why they do this I have no clue!!! But I did enjoy this one.

Can't wait for the next instalment.

Review: Power Game (GhostWalkers, #13) by Christine Feehan (Goodreads Author)

Power Game (GhostWalkers, #13)Power Game by Christine Feehan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

 photo 5464776fa61fbd3660db99ab3d0cb6a2_zpsypk6c7hp.gif
Allright, we are now at book #13 in Christine Feehan's GhostWalkers Series with her latest, Power Game. You probably wondering my confused "look"........let me explain!!!

This series started off with soldiers that were enhanced with super powers, then progressed to enhancements mixing human DNA with animal DNA....and young girls who were used as experiments by the madman scientist, Peter Whitney....we now have human DNA mixed with spiders/snakes....and now, the heroine, Bellisia with octopus DNA!!! Hell, what next!!!

So, Bellisia aka Bella and Ezekiel aka Zeke's story is a bit better than the last few books I have read by CF.

What made it work for me:

Bella.....I like her....she was such an engaging and lovable character....wanting to find love in her life!! Her interactions between the GhostWalkers was really endearing......the family vibe was great - and the scenes, especially the cooking lessons with Nonny were funny and cute.

I also liked Ezekiel.........he wasn't a sexist and controlling ass@$#le...He was caring and giving towards Bella which was something better than some of the male characters in this series.

Secondary characters.......wow, the triplets.......totally captivating!!! I adored these three little girls....

Whilst I liked this book more than the previous two or three, it still didn't "rock" my world. I find that there is a lot of repetition....I want to taste you...I want you....Open up for me!!!!!
 photo sara_yawn_gif_by_mikiyoshiuzuki-d4iuwu8_zpspm7edy62.gif
I feel something is missing in this series...can't put my finger on what exactly.........it needs an injection of something or other....but whatever it is.......unless it happens...I am not sure if I will continue reading this series.

Spider Game (GhostWalkers #12)Spider Game by Christine Feehan
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

1,5 stars

Is Christine Feehan getting bored? Really, her last few books have left me feeling.............something like this........
 photo tumblr_md8ya3ilY41r39bgvo1_500_zpsardejfgv.gif
Spider Game is the 12th book in her GhostWalkers Series - so what did I think of Cayenne and Trap's story??

Firstly, the main character's names......really!!! Cayenne & Trap!!!
 photo 1288388_roflmao_gif3c27b0c44b9f840665edd9a2d24b57f3_zpskdeq4goc.gif
But that's not the only reason why I found this story to be yet another....
 photo cat-yawn-ho-hum_zpsdodopopd.gif
I found Cayenne to be a pretty cool heroine....she was kickass - (that's the reason for 1,5 stars instead of 1) well in the beginning.......but then, what the hell happened to her!!!! Letting the hero, old Trap walk all over her!!!

Now, let's continue with Trap!!! What a d@##$khead!!! The way he treated Cayenne was beyond despicable.....here I was hoping that he would become a bit better...but no........he continues to be the ass@@@@@le........why she stuck around with him was beyond comprehension.

I am also becoming a bit bored with all the repetitive sex scenes....which crop up at the most unexpected times....

Anyway, I will probably read the next book in the series..........with the hope that just maybe....the next will be an awesome one!!!

Review: For All Eternity (Vampire, #2) by Linda Lael Miller (Goodreads Author)

For All Eternity (Vampire, #2)For All Eternity by Linda Lael Miller
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love this vampire series by Linda Lael Miller.
The first book was Forever and the Night, the story of Aidan Tremayne - see my review here https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6... .

For All Eternity, the 2nd book is Maeve Tremayne, Aidan's sister's story. I loved Maeve from the very beginning and I was looking forward to her finding her very own HEA.

The story takes place over centuries. Maeve meets the mortal Dr Calder Holdbrook during the American Civil War, where they are tending to the sick and injured in the battlefields.

They fall in love but their happiness does not come quickly or easy. It will take many meetings over many years before the two finally are able to be together for eternity.

Fabulous characters...............meeting up with the evil super vampire queen Lisette, and Valerian, the maker of Maeve and Aidan. I cannot wait for his book...which is next.......YIPPEE!!!

A Stone-Kissed Sea (Elemental World, #4)A Stone-Kissed Sea by Elizabeth Hunter
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

1,5 star

I became a fan of Elisabeth Hunter since I read A Hidden Fire, the 1st book in her Elemental Mysteries Series and I loved the spin-off, Elemental World Series - you can read my reviews on the first three books here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Needless to say, I was so excited with the arrival of book #4 - A Stone-Kissed Sea...............but that excitement soon began to fade..............throughout most of the story I spent doing more of..........
 photo tumblr_inline_ohowmwqQhU1qe5ngf_500_zpsg08chnfn.gif
YES.........dragging my body on the floor....trying...oh trying so very hard not to give up!!!

The story just dragged on and on.....pretty much like me on the floor!!!

The main characters...the hero....ancient vampire Lucien Thrax and the heroine, Makeda.....the human beyond intelligent scientist who never ever wants to become a vampire whilst working in the vampire world....suddenly turns beyond stupid when she's turned to save her life!!!!!OOOh, then it's hate hate hate poor old beyond stupid hero, Lucien...who just by the way did not turn her into a monster vampire...his friend did...alright Lucien did ask him to do it!!!
The two spend more time snipping and ignoring each other than any kind of loving..........I just never felt the loving...the chemistry between these two. I couldn't give a toss what happens to them.........I wanted to go out there and find a cure for their malady..........
 photo tumblr_m4kbhwih4s1r5k9koo1_500_zpsrwej7t88.gif
.............but I guess I ran out of energy after all that floor crawling!!!!

Anyway, the plot just keeps getting more and more OTT...........the ancient vampires are on a power roll....Lucien and Makeda are working on a cure for Elixir ...remember, the poison killing off vampires and humans!!!! So, let's lots and lots of travel...by private jet....by private boat.....and lots of other methods!!! Lots and lots of very very boring boring ancient vampires...........there are so many characters in the story that I had to keep reminding myself who was who!!

Although we get to see some characters from the previous books......which was the only thing that made me continue turning the next page...........what would have made it more bearable was if I could have been given a glimpse of Giovanni Vecchio and Beatrice De Novo.........which we don't get...we just get his private jet!!!

I know I'm in the minority here about this book..........all the reviews I've seen have been 4 and 5 stars............so, don't let me put you off reading this book............it's just for me................A Stone-Kissed Sea did not turn out to be a reading-kissed experience!!!!
