My rating: 4 of 5 stars
STUCK-UP SUIT by Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward is a fabulously quirky romance. It's fun, sexy, sweet, light but not without depth ...a bit of angst and conflict but nothing heavy and dark, which was a total pleasure.
From the first page...............started with a smile on my face and soon moved on to laughing my head off ......
The 2 main characters, Soraya Venedetta & Graham Morgan were a total delight....engaging and beyond endearing.
Soraya Venedetta (I loved the one scene where Graham's ex bitch girlfriend says...Vendetta?????)....I adored this woman. She just had the right "moves".
“My life was far from Sex and the City. It was more like Sex and the Pity. Or Sex and the Shitty.”She's one of a kind...colours the tips of her hair to suit her moods!!!! She's fun, unique and totally fabulous......another unforgettable scene where she overhears the said ex girlfriend's friends gossiping in the ladies about Graham......does Soraya disappear into the shadows??? Not on your life...
“My boyfriend had been fucked over by Barbie and Ken. And I was more like the Bratz doll rebound.”
A few minutes later, I’d been so preoccupied thinking about what those women were saying that I hadn’t noticed Graham sneak up behind me to plant a kiss on my neck. The gossipers had taken notice, though. Their eyes were practically bugging out of their heads. Their little happily-ever-after fantasy was quickly challenged by Graham’s public display of affection with someone they probably assumed was working the party. I couldn’t help myself when I turned to them and smiled. “Plot twist.”I just loved watching these two come together....
And Graham Morgan........hell, I loved this guy!!!! What was there not to love????
The interaction and dialogue between the two is out of this world..........
“Give a little, Soraya. It’s a ride home, not a ride on my cock. And I think you know by now that I’m not a serial killer.” - Graham
Oh, another great thing about the story is when Graham writes to the agony column that Soraya works on........
Dear Ida,....some of the messages were incredibly funny.......one of the letters that Soraya received from one of the readers had me rolling on the floor...
This is the former Celibate in Manhattan. You might also remember me as Stuck-up Suit. I thought it would be polite to provide you with an update to my situation, seeing as though you've been so helpful thus far. The good news: I'm happy to say that I'm no longer celibate."-Graham
“Dear Ida,So, if I loved this book so much, why only the 4stars?
My boyfriend recently asked me to marry him. I said yes. He’s the sweetest, kindest man I’ve ever known. Problem is, the diamond he gave me was smaller than I hoped for. I don’t really want to hurt his feelings. I need to know a polite way to express my disappointment. –Lori, Manhattan God has the same dilemma when it comes to you, sweetheart. P.S. When your fiancĂ© dumps your selfish ass, give him my number. Answering”
Well, up to about 70%, I absolutely loved it....laughed my head off...but the last 30% fell a bit flat....the whole issue of Graham and his ex bitch girlfriend, Genevieve became a bit too cliche and repetitive.
However, I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves romance...and lots of laughs!!!
