Lucky Girl by Emme Rollins
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Lucky Girl is the sequel to Dear Rockstar….which I totally loved…https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... .
I felt something was missing in Lucky Girl….not saying I hated exactly but it just fell a bit flat for me….
The story felt a bit rushed – okay, it is a short book….just over 150 pages…so maybe that’s the reason for it.
However, I never felt the connection I had with Dale & Sara in the first book. There were all these things happening so fast and resolved even faster…it was like being on a hundred meter sprint!!!
This story focus is on Sara’s past history and a bit of Dale’s too and how they both deal with the secrets they have been keeping are suddenly revealed. I would have liked a bit more pages on the band and their music…..
Sara’s problems are pretty awful………not only does she have to deal with her “step-beast” but also the sudden appearance of a guy who proclaims to be her long lost father!!! That plot was a bit OTT…it just didn’t make sense ….both Sara’s reaction and her supposed lost father’s behavior!!!!
Poor Dale….I really like this guy!!! He’s real and nice!!! Too nice for a rockstar I thought at times!!!
Anyway, all Sara & Dale’s issues are very quickly resolved ……at a very quick and fast pace!!!!
So, in the end……I did like the epilogue!!! It was sweet and cute!!!
PS……Is it just me that thinks that the Black Diamond band members are a bit unappealing??? Wait, take Dale out of that equation…but the rest!!!! They just so unappetizing!!!!!
