Her Last Whisper: A Novel by Karen Robards
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This is the 3rd novel in Dr Charlotte Stone Series by Karen Robards and despite a few gripes, I enjoyed it more than book #2, which ended when
Charlie was brought back to life by Michael Garland, the dead, now ghost serial killer that she’s fallen in love with, now begins with her decision to just work on her serial studies and not get involved with helping her FBI friends finding serial killers.
But when Tony, the FBI agent and friend asks her help in finding Lena, the other FBI agent’s missing sister, who he thinks may have been target by yet another serial killer…what else can Charlie do??? Dive in immediately and soon she and the FBI team are off on another mission to find Lena’s sister before she’s killed.
What a relief…that after quite a long disappearance into the unknown, Michael Garland returns yet again to save Charlie from being bumped off again!!!! Of course does Charlie listen to Michael’s advice?? Are you kidding me??? Of course not!!!
This story had a bit more plot that the last book and actually it kept me guessing until almost the very end, who the bad bad guys were.
I just wish there was more dialogue in this series. There is so much internal dialogue…mostly by Charlie that just drives me crazy and gets me skimming a lot of pages…why can’t she make up her mind about Michael??? Yes, No….!!!
One character that I really liked in this book was Tam, Charlie’s psychic friend!!! She’s totally awesome!!!!
Anyway, the ending just got to me!!! What now!!! What next??? What’s going to happen to Michael??? After all that’s happened, I cannot believe that something good won’t come his way after what he has done not only for Charlie but a lot of other people.
