My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This was me…after I finished reading Heart-Shaped Hack, the latest book by Tracey Garvis-Graves!
Before I continue, let me just say that I LOVED her On the Island Series and I was looking forward to this book.
But this book was somewhat not as exciting as that Series.
It’s a very sweet and cute love story about a hacker and how he meets a really endearing woman, who does good for the community….and fall in love!
“What are you saying? That you’re a thief who steals from other thieves?”I thought the story-line really interesting and unique. And the characters were likeable and engaging with some steamy sexy moments and a bit of suspense and mystery!!
He wrinkled his nose, and it was adorable.
Stop! Thief!
“It sounds so distasteful when you say it like that. I prefer master appropriator of ill-gotten funds. You can call me master for short.”
What I found myself thinking a lot of the time was ……hey, this is a romantic suspense story…something that Nora Roberts or Karen Robards could have written!!! With sex scenes as a filler!! Some mystery, a little bit of angst..not that much though….but not much tension really!!! I kind of knew what would happen in the end!
I did like the banter between Ian and Kate….it was pretty funny….
“So you want a nice guy, but you don’t want him to be boring.”Saying all of the above, I have to admit that I enjoy reading this story…still thinking if I am going to read Ian & Kate’s next adventure!!!!
“Yes. Nice and not boring and not into threesomes and no cocaine. I mean, is that too much to ask?”
“No, although I feel compelled to point out that the threesome thing is pretty universal.”
“Oh for God’s sake,” she muttered.
“That doesn’t mean we’re all going to try to convince you to participate in one. It’s just that very few guys would be like, ‘Go away, extra girl,’ should one happen to climb into our bed when you’re already in it. That’s all I’m saying.”
My favorite quote:
“Well, how do you usually meet women?” “They have a way of suddenly appearing. Like the birds in that song.” She had to think about that for a minute. “You mean ‘Close to You’ by the Carpenters?”
