Review: Flesh and Blood (Kay Scarpetta, #22) by Patricia Cornwell

Flesh and Blood (Kay Scarpetta, #22)Flesh and Blood by Patricia Cornwell
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

What is going on with this series???? I have read most of the books and loved the first ones but after book #18, I gave up on this series.

Why did I then read book #22? I was kind of missing Kate Scarpetta and thinking...hey the real KS might just be back????
Well, let me tell you right away..........she AIN’T!!!
Kate flits from one place to another...from one dead body to another....in between making fabulous breakfast for Benton, which never gets eaten!!!!

The plot confused me....much...a lot....snipers, suspected terrorists, people being murdered here and there...connected to this one and that one........twists here and then turns there....geez, i felt like I was watching the Wimbledon Men’s final........you know where your head goes something like this.... photo download_zps0071f7a7.jpg?

I didn’t get the plot!!! Why the killers kill who they did. Who were the killers??? Hell, beyond confusion!!!

And then there’s the characters........

I loved Kay S....but what happened to her???
I wanted more of her and Benton (who I loved in the previous books)...here he jumps from one place to another with a purpose I have no idea what it is!

Lucy...i adored her character but in the later books, she’s become like this weird person....i just don’t get her anymore!!! And in this story...another “fliter”......she “poofed” from place to place and EUREKA....when we are told who is behind all those weird murders!!!!! No, really!!!!

Marino..i loved the relationship between him and Kay but what the hell has happened to the guy...yes, he was always wacko and weird but now, he’s still that but more...whiney, moaning and shouting all over the place......who is this guy Marino in this story?????????????

And let me not start with the last word in the book..........SNAP!!! What the hell does that mean?????????????? Now, I HAVE to read book #23 because I NEED to KNOW!!!!!!

Yes, I will read the next KATE SCARPETTA instalment because I cannot be left hanging on there.........guess that’s what the author had in mind...or maybe not!!! Guess I will have to wait and see....and HOPE a LOT that it’s going to be an awesome read.

Review: Smiley (New Species, #13) by Laurann Dohner

Smiley (New Species, #13)Smiley by Laurann Dohner
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked Smiley's book but it's not one of my favourites in this series.

Fell a bit flat for me...nothing really happens...slow.....

I've always loved Smiley in the previous books but there was something lacking in him here....and I wasn't crazy about Vanni....geez, what kind of a name is that!!!!!

I wanted Breeze....Flame.....more about the families....

And I absolutely HATED the cover .........the body looks misshapen...yuck!!!!

Review: A Touch of Notoriety (Buenos Aires Nights #2) by Carole Mortimer

A Touch of NotorietyA Touch of Notoriety by Carole Mortimer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A Touch of Notoriety by Carole Mortimer is a sequel to A Taste of the Forbidden, https://www.goodreads.com/review/show... of the “Buenos Aires Nights” series.
Grace’s sister, Beth accompanies her to Buenos Aires to prepare for her wedding to Cesar.

Cesar and his parents are stunned by Beth’s resemblance to Cesar’s mother and believe she could be Cesar’s sister that was stolen at the age of 2. Blood tests confirm that she is indeed Gabriela Navarro.

Beth is unable to deal with the news…her life as she’s always known has been a lie and she needs to get away to sort herself out.
Raphael, Cesar’s bodyguard and friend, is sent to watch over Beth.
They fall in love and both help each other to resolve their issues – Raphael to face his father and Beth to come to terms with who she really is.

It was a nice story but I enjoyed Grace & Cesar’s book much more.

Review: A Taste of the Forbidden (Buenos Aires Nights, #1) by Carole Mortimer

A Taste of the Forbidden (Buenos Aires Nights, #1)A Taste of the Forbidden by Carole Mortimer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I adored Grace and Cesar as a couple. The Argentinean billionaire, living in an ivory tower, hires a pastry chef to cook his meals….the two together are totally endearing – just loved Grace…she’s quirky and so funny….the dialogue between them is awesome, especially Grace…does she know how to put her foot in….

And let me just add…the sexual chemistry between Grace and Cesar is sizzling….
”Oh yes!” Cesar hissed as he felt the heat of Grace’s lips and tongue as she first licked his length from his balls to the bulbous tip, lingering over that sensitive spot just beneath the head, before moving up and over as she first licked up the escape of fluid from the tip before taking him fully into the heat of her mouth.
Yes, this is a Mills & Boon ….
The pain and loss that Cesar and his family have endured for years was so sad.
I did feel that the story ended far too soon…no epilogue…but then Grace discovers that her life is intertwined with Cesar than she ever expected so I guess their story will continue in book #2

Review: Billionaire's Secret (The Chatsfield #4) by Chantelle Shaw

Billionaire's SecretBillionaire's Secret by Chantelle Shaw
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I've read a few books in this series and to be honest am not crazy about it.

I liked the hero more than the heroine. Nicolo had a traumatic experience as a teenager which had left him tortured and lost and despite his behaviour towards the heroine, I still felt for him.
The heroine was beyond awful...i hated her. So she had a bad childhood but does that give her the right to behave the way she does when she discovers she's pregnant????

The storyline is interesting but not enough to pull me in.

Now I am thinking....should I continue with this series or not???

Review: Devil to Pay (Night Huntress, #3.5) by Jeaniene Frost

Devil to Pay (Night Huntress, #3.5)Devil to Pay by Jeaniene Frost
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

A fast-paced and nice short story of Blake, possessed by a demon and saved by vampire Elise.

A short appearance by Cat and Bones but it’s Mancheres that plays a bigger part in this enjoyable addition to this series.
