It’s hard to believe that it’s been twenty years since we were first introduced to Harry Bosch in The Black Echo, the 1st book in this great crime series.

I have read most of the books in the series and it’s amazing how we continue discovering new things about this iconic character in the 19th book…..

Harry Bosch is now the oldest detective in the Open-Unsolved Unit, entering his final year on his Deferred Retirement Option Plan and remains as determined to bring the bad guys to justice.

Harry is paired with the youngest officer in his unit, Lucia Soto to solve a ten year old cold case. He still uses some sneaky methods if it means finding the truth regardless of the consequences that may impact negatively in his job.

I enjoy the engrossing police procedural that Harry applies in his work….seeing each clue opening up another clue….brilliant.

The vivid LA setting is really good…it felt so real reading about the neighborhoods, the roads, the canyons.
Interesting, fast-moving story which ends with a total Bang…..what next???

Can’t wait!!!

Destined for an Early Grave is the 4th installment of the Night Huntress series and are emotions running high in the vampire world!!! And for me too….Cat & Bones are back…yay yay yay….

Cat and Bones are off to Paris for a well-earned vacation but something is happening to her that is totally freaking her out. Nightmares of being chased by a vampire that she doesn’t remember but knows that she knows him somehow.
Cat doesn't remember Gregor at all because Bones, grandsire Mencheres was able to erase Cat's memories of her time with Gregor
What a shock – Mencheres, master vampire and Bone’s grandsire informs them that Cat had been seduced by Gregor, a master vampire and dreamsnatcher when she was sixteen and Mencheres erase all those memories from her head but Gregor now wants his mate back.
This is a total disaster…Cat and Bones are now married and in love and no way are they going to be “torn asunder” by the evil Gregor!!


An engrossing story filled with past memories, new revelations, secrets, passion, love, friendship and characters we have grown to love and some great and new ones too.

Characters that stand out to me (apart from Cat & Bones…who are still my favs…

Mencheres – wow, this guy has been hiding another side of himself. Here I had this idea of a wise, serious and cold vamp…but then he shows he has a sense of humor..

“Then you remember the dream,” Mencheres stated. “That bodes ill.”
The fear of that made my reply snappy. “Hey, Walks Like an Egyptian, how about for once you drop the formal stuff and talk like you live in the twenty-first century?”
“The shit’s gonna splatter, start buggin, yo,” Mencheres responded instantly.

Fabian – what a ghoul!
Justina – Cat’s mother. Absolutely love her character….never thought she had it in her when it came to vampires…what a surprise.
Vlad – I have grown to like him more and more as I get to know him. Love his relationship and interaction with Cat.
Slade Gorgeous and can’t wait for his book.
Tate – his infatuation with Cat is driving me crazy…I know…I like him but I wish he would get over her or he’s going to lose his head if Bones has a say in it!!!! Can’t he find someone else to love?????

Using New Orleans as a setting is absolutely perfect for this series. The dark and moody feel makes it a perfect world for demons, ghouls, vampires, ghosts and other urban fantasy creatures. The scene where Bones and Cat go to the cemetery to meet voodoo ghoul queen Marie Laveau, who may be able to help them fight Gregor is so vividly written that one could feel the scary and creepiness of being in a dark cemetery.

. The meeting is also filled with some amazingly humorous moments.

A fun and totally enjoyable read. And can’t wait for book #5!!

Book 3 in a series that has really grabbed me…just keeps getting better and better…can’t get enough of the characters and the world they inhabit!!!
Cat & Bones….what a fabulous and totally lovable and endearing couple….I adore these two…absolutely “togetherness”…and duo “hotness”….…..

I can’t stop talking about the dialogue that this author writes….it’s just incredible…funny, witty, sexy…..you get it don’t you????
I look forward to reading the next book…..

I am totally hooked on this series…and it’s just book #2!!!!

I am beyond happy that Cat and Bones are together again….after 4 long years..I was about to give up…but yes…TOGETHER and they are just as fabulous as ever…love their chemistry …and yes...like a lot of other readers have mentioned...Chapter 32…is …WOW…

Cat and Bones are now working together for a secret government group that eradicate human-killing vampires. Lots of adventures, good and evil vampires, witches, vampire slayers……what a rollercoaster ride.
And the dialogue….stunning…

Every page was a pleasure to read…and I can’t get enough!!!!

I am ecstatic …….a fabulicious new series!!! Sexy vampires….what else could I ask for???? Cat & Bones are now my favorite vampire couple!!!!

Cat is a sexy, kick-ass half-human/half-vampire determined to kill vampires…after all her mother was raped by an evil vampire, aka her father.

“I'm saying that I'm a moody, insecure, narrow-minded, jealous, borderline homicidal bitch, and I want you to promise me that you're okay with that, because it's who I am, and you're what I need.”

Bones is a sexy ancient vampire, slayer of evil vampires with a fab English accent…yes, he’s British!!!! And GORGEOUS!!!!!

I absolutely loved the humor and the interaction and dialogue between Cat & Bones is …let’s just say…TO DIE FOR!!! A love story…ooh I love it….

“Cat, hmmm? From where I sit you look more like a Kitten." My head jerked around and I shot him an annoyed look. Oh, I was going to enjoy this, all right. "It's Cat," I repeated firmly. "Cat Raven." "Whatever you say, Kitten Tweedy.”

A great blend of supernatural and urban fantasy world building – sexy, dark, romantic, witty, action filled plot, filled with fantastic characters…those male vampires..YUM…..imgsrc=” that left me wanting more.

Review: Possession (Fallen Angels, #5) by J.R. Ward

I am a BIG fan of JR WARD and love her BDB Series and when I found her Fallen Angels Series, I couldn’t be happier. A fight between good and evil….with a bit of the BDB world thrown in!!! Can’t go wrong!!!!
I loved the 1st book, Covet and even liked book 2, Crave and book 3, Envy a lot. But when I arrived at book 4, Rapture…I was like…no, I don’t feel for this story!!! Not at all!!! https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1... .

Did that stop me from reading book 5??? No…..this is JR WARD…..Possession could not possibly be worse than Rapture!! Well, it’s not worse but it’s certainly not a WOW that I was so looking forward to!! Even a scene or two with Xhex and JM from BDB could make me happy…it actually made no impact to the story……it just felt “thrown” in to fill some pages!!!

Jim Heron, the good angel – who I started off liking in the beginning, really irritated me….his obsession with Sissy (the good person being held captive by the evil side) is beyond irrational. He makes a deal with evil Devina to save Sissy from hell, without thinking of the consequences. He floats all over the place without any purpose or aim, except SISSY, SISSY…when he should be finding the soul he has to save. He’s a total selfish idiot. I have some doubts where his relationship with Sissy will go.

I am not sure how I feel about Sissy yet……maybe I will warm up to her in the next book.

Adrian and all those angels and archangels….a tad boring!!! Same oh…same oh!!!

The soul or souls that need saving….Cait, the heroine, who was a bit weird at times…has to choose between the one good and the one evil brothers……….the whole thing between Cait, Duke and his evilish brother kept going …nowhere….I felt no romance between the tormented Duke and Cait….just a lot of sex!!

The parts I liked a lot….all the scenes with Evil Devina!!!

I just adore this character. Her insecurities and OCD behavior….her love for fashion and Laboutin shoes.................
and Chanel lipsticks…her hoarding….and her scenes with her therapist are to die for.

This is not a read again book and I am hoping next one will be more interesting.
