My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Karina Halle is one of those authors that I absolutely love. Her writing is beautiful, her characters are real and relatable. Her descriptive imagery is so vivid that you become part of the story's world.
I have read a lot of her books and I have become a huge fan, and I am happy to say that The Debt has been an incredibly read - from the incredible and unexpected Prologue until the very last page. A powerful, intense, sexy, and enthralling love story. Two broken souls who find comfort in each other.
Tragedy brings Keir McGregor and Jessica Charles in the most unexpected way.
Two broken souls, holding secrets that may tear them apart.
I fell in love with these two characters.
I found Jessica such an inspirational heroine. Broken but resilient...fearless, vulnerable and strong.
She had that something special that Kier needed to face his fears.
Kier is fighting his demons, afraid to face his guilt.......He had a gentle side to him that I really liked....
I loved going with them on their journey to finding peace and love together. Also, the road trip through Scotland added a magic feel to the story.
One of my favorite quotes:
If there's a story that I highly recommend you read, it's The Debt. And if you've missed the other books that the characters are interwoven into each story...The Play, The Pact, The Offer and The Lie - please get them. It's a fantastic "series"........despite each book being read as a standalone.
