Bouquet by Shirl Henke
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I first read this book when it was first published in the early 1990’s and decided to read it again….after I spied it on my bookshelf and remembered liking it.
Synopsis: Marti and Riba Beaumont are daughters of the glittering California wine dynasty of Chateau Beaumont, yet no sisters could be more different. Marti is the selfless one, training her mind to carry on her father's work while hiding her women's heart. Riba is the reckless one, using her dazzling blonde beauty to blind her father of her wanton ways, devouring one man after another to satisfy her sensual hunger.
Since childhood they have been rivals for their father's affections and for the wealth and power that come to the one who controlled Chateau Beaumont. Then Adam Wade drifts into the valley, a handsome, mysterious stranger they both desire, whose plan for vengeance no one can guess. As Marti and Adam are drawn into a swirl of hidden secrets, sinister intriguer, and naked passion, they discover that trust is a blind gamble and love is a desperate risk...
Enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Surprisingly it did not feel dated..21 years and still fitted in today’s world.
Intriguing storyline, fabulous settings, romance, mystery with interesting characters and some very sexy and well-written love scenes.
I discovered that this book was reprinted in 2014 under a new title…Deadly Harvest.
Anyone who likes romance and suspense will enjoy this one.
