Review: Tease (Songs of Submission, #2) by C.D. Reiss

Tease (Songs of Submission, #2)Tease by C.D. Reiss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Despite both agreeing to a casual relationship – Jonathan doesn’t do love except with his ex-wife and Monica, beautiful, talented singer and composer, is cool with that because right now what matters the most to her is getting her music career on track – they can’t stop thinking of each other when apart.

I couldn’t wait to get into book #2 in this series after getting a “taste” in book #1 https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1..., which I “devoured” with great relish!!!

What I like so far –

The lead characters:

Monica is beautiful, hard working, focused, ambitious, kind-hearted, sexy and loyal. She does not let past knocks in her life to stop her from striving to attain her dream. She’s not whiney!!! She’s refreshing!!!! She also cares for the people she loves, especially Gabby, friend and member of the band, whose problems could test a saint!!!! But it does not stop her from caring and loving her.
I looked at Gabby and her big blue eyes, pleading for consideration. She was mid-anxiety attack. If it continued over the coming weeks, the anxiety attacks would become less frequent and the dead stares into corners more frequent if she didn’t take her meds regularly. Then it would be trouble: another suicide attempt, or worse, a success. I loved Gabby. She was like a sister to me, but sometimes I wished for a less burdensome friend.

I have to admit that I am not crazy about her ex-first boyfriend and Gabby’s brother and her not so long ago ex-boyfriend, Kevin. What an asshole………hard to believe Monica could have ever been together with such an empty and selfish shell!!!!!

Jonathan – wow this man has some serious problems!!! How he can possible believe that he’s still in love with Jessica, his bitchy and cold ex-wife is a mystery to me!!!! But I have hopes for him....he cannot get Monica out of his head!!!!! Such a good thing too!!!

Because I love these two characters together........their chemistry is totally awesome.

Loved the part when Jonathan invites Monica to accompany him to his ex-wife’s art exhibition.....the only REAL person there is Monica!!!

Great writing, fabulous characters, fantastic storyline....what else can one ask for in a book????
