The Neighbor by Dean Koontz
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I have read some incredible books by this author......my favourites being some of his earlier works like Watchers, Strangers and Intensity but sadly have been a bit disappointed with some of the latest books – i haven’t been able to get into the Odd Thomas Series at all!!!
But his latest book, The City, looked so good and before starting that one, decided to read the prequel.
A short introduction to some of the characters that will play a part in The City.
Malcolm Pomerantz is twelve, a bit of a nerd and his lovely older sister Amalia form part of a really weird …let’s say beyond dysfunctional family…. Their mother gave me the creeps!!!!
Their next door neighbour has died......and we soon discover that he was a really really bad man!!!!
Jonah moves in next door with his family and soon he and Malcom become best friends, whose friendship spans a few decades.
It was a good set-up for The City.....creepy, weird and strange things happening all around....what we have come to expect from this author and it really “perked” my interest to wanting to read The City. I am looking forward to a good book there!!!
