Never Go Back by Lee Child
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
I have read all 17 books in the Jack Reacher Series by Lee Child and enjoyed most of them.
How could one not like Jack Reacher? He’s the total anti-hero, the outcast from society, travelling alone without any papers or baggage and on the way, always finding trouble and having to sort out all those bad guys. He has this sense of right from wrong, good and bad and he’s not afraid to take on what comes his way. He belongs nowhere; he has no commitments, no home, and no family. Sounds pretty sad in a way…but somehow Jack Reacher knows how he is and never mind where the road takes him…he’s open to whatever happens along the way.
This time, he liked the sound of a woman’s voice on the phone, so he decides to travel by foot and bus or hitched rides from the last adventure he had to Virginia so he can invite her out to dinner.
What follows is yet another Jack adventure...filled with good and bad guys…lots of killings, loads of mystery that keep you going until the last page.
Naturally, at the end…he takes the said woman to dinner, after much kicking, shooting and hitting around the baddies and solving the case…….and not going to let out the ending…..leave you guessing to see where Jack will go next…or will he stay???????
