Absorbed by Emily Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I love this series by Emily Snow. I was over the moon when this fabulous novella, Absorbed (#1,5 in the Devoured Series) - getting something on Lucas and Sienna whilst waiting for the next book, Consumed, to be released, was an absolute bonus.
This story is written from Lucas POV which gives us an insight into his feelings during his separation from Sienna.
I also enjoyed getting Kylie'[s POV.....fabulous. And, hey things with her and Wyatt???? Ooooh!!! Can't wait to read her book.
And we get a bit more on the band members...yay!!
A quick and fabulous read.

Review: Wrecked by Emily Snow (Goodreads Author)
Wrecked by Emily Snow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
2,5 stars
I have read some really great books by this author, but Wrecked was a bit of a disappointment for me.
It's a sweet YA romance which did not make a huge impression to me....I didn't feel that the two main characters had a connection or chemistry with each other. I liked Rhys more than Eve...she started to annoy me to no end....all her angst and drama.
The story moved at a slow pace and hell, did it take ages and ages before the big REVEAL is finally here!!!! And the usage of the word WRECKED......what was that all about????
Let me just say that it was an okay story...but not anything great!! I have read much better books written by Emily Snow.

Review: Deceptions (Cainsville, #3) by Kelley Armstrong (Goodreads Author)
Deceptions by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Deceptions, the 3rd novel in Kelley Armstrong's Cainsville Series confused me right from the start.
All the fae factions in Cainsville, the multiple plots, ancient tales, visions, reincarnations........had a hard time keeping up.........and then there's the love triangle between Olivia/Ricky/Gabriel!!!
I am not crazy about the whole Ricky situation. I want Olivia to get together with Gabriel. He's so much more interesting than the hot biker!!!! These two have a deep connection and I wish that they would get their communication lines sorted out!!!
On the subject of Gabriel........I wish the guy would get his shit together when it comes to his feelings for Olivia!!!
Whilst some questions we had from the previous two books are answered here, we are still left with just as many answered.
I really enjoyed the first two books but I have somehow lost the "plot" of this series....hopefully I will get back on track when the next book comes out.

Review: Storm's Heart (Elder Races #2) by Thea Harrison (Goodreads Author)
Storm's Heart by Thea Harrison
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
3,5 stars
Storm's Heart is the 2nd book in Thea Harrison's Elder Races paranormal romance series.
This story revolves around Thistle Tricks Periwinkle, a.k.a., Princess Niniane of the Dark Fae and PR whizzkid for the Wyr , who has been under the protection of Dragos, after her family had been murdered by her uncle. We were introduced to her in the 1st book Dragon Bound and I found her to be such a fun character.
The ending leaves us with a cliff-hanger relating to another Wyr Sentinel, Rune, who is the hero in the next book, Serpent’s Kiss.
I enjoy becoming familiar with the characters and world in this series and I did like this story...but, to be honest, not as much as I did Dragon Bound. I missed Dragos and Pia!!!!!! Not enough of them here.

Tiago Black Eagle, a Wyr warrior and leader of the Wyr warriors has been assigned to travel and protect Tricks when she returns to her home to reclaim her throne.
The two have a definite chemistry but it's not going to be an easy road to travel for them. The elder races are not keen to have their future queen mate with a wyr. I thought he was pretty awesome ...how he was prepared to do anything to make Niniane happy....what matter the most was that he loved her and he cared for her happiness and safety above all else....
This story has a lot of intrigue, and politics between all the different Elder races, action packed, humour, suspense......and romance too......

Midnight Marked by Chloe Neill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Midnight Marked is the 12th book in Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampire Series and sadly there will only be one more book after this one.
It's now a year since Merit was turned and a lot has happened since. A war between the supernatural's is on the go..........and Chicago is in danger again!!!!
I have loved watching Merit and Ethan's journey...they are now at a good place.
And the ending.........hell, why do we have to wait such a long time before the next book?????

“I love you, Ethan, and I love this city. And however much I fought, I love this goddamn House. It's part of me, and I'm part of it. I'm not going to stand here and watch a man tear down everything that you've build. I'm not. And if that means I have to chase another man who threatens this House, or apologize to you more than I like, so be it. I don't want that, but I can live with it. Because I can't live without you.”Another thing I enjoy about this series are the secondary characters. The friendship between Merit & Mallory is such fun....l
“Did I mention I love your nail polish? " I asked.I enjoyed this story. Fast paced, action packed with some twists I wasn't expecting.
"You did not, but thank you. Times like this, you gotta have a bright spot. You gotta have something to lighten the mood. Catcher's homemade waffles and enormous dick usually do the trick.”
And the ending.........hell, why do we have to wait such a long time before the next book?????

Review: The Darkest Torment (Lords of the Underworld Book 12) by Gena Showalter (Goodreads Author)
The Darkest Torment by Gena Showalter
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
The Darkest Torment, the 12th book in Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld paranormal Series is the story of Baden, the Lord of Destruction and Katarina Joelle, a dog trainer.
Baden kidnaps Katarina in the bid to win his freedom from the god of the underworld.
This book just did not do it for me. I struggled to finish it.
The storyline was all over the place.
Katarina is so uninteresting and Baden....well, he and she did not endear themselves to me.
Even meeting up with characters from the previous books excited me.
This is definitely one of those "I did not like" books in this series.

Awakened by Elisabeth Naughton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Awakened is the 8th book in the Eternal Guardians series by Elisabeth Naughton.
The story takes place 25 years after the last book.
The heroine, Elysia, is the daughter of Isadora & Demetrius (their book #3 in the series, Tempted https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/8...)
Damon has no memory of his life except for the last 25 years, which he has spent being Aphrodite's playtoy.
He also trains the new Sirens, which Elysia is now one of them.
The two of them find themselves alone with each other on a deserted island and join forces and their wits to getting rescued.
We meet up with characters from the previous books and get a look into their lives now.
This story had a lot going on.....action, suspense, romance, sexy scenes, hot chemistry, twists and turns and some secrets revealed.
The author continues building a world of mythology and fantasy combined with some unforgettable and engaging characters that makes this series such an enjoyable one.
A great addition to the series.

Review: Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1) by Thea Harrison (Goodreads Author)
Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Why did it take me so long to discover this series????
Dragon Bound is the 1st book in Thea Harrison's Elder Races Series. The world that she's created is unique, fun and so cool. A world where shape-shifters, vampires, dragons and humans all trying to live together.
I loved this book. It had everything I want in a story. An unique and fresh plot, romance, tension, action, unforgettable characters, exotic settings and great dialogue.
Dragos & Pia are my new favorite fiction couple. I adored them being together. Their chemistry is filled with hot sparks and sexual tension.....wow, off the charts!!! Their interaction was really fabulous.....the banter....I just loved their dialogue together..
Dragos Cuelebre
I enjoyed the way their relationship developed through the story.
There are so many incredible characters that are introduced and I can't wait to read their stories.
Dragon Bound was absolutely fabulous and I am looking forward to reading the entire series.

This is an incredibly dominant alpha male....and a gorgeous dragon too!!! He's sexy, possessive and totally dangerous!!!!
“I am cursed with a terminal case of curiosity," he said. "I am jealous, selfish, acquisitive, territorial and possessive. I have a terrible temper, and I know I can be a cruel son of a bitch."Pia Giovanni
Half Wyr, half human, but her animal form is a secret she keeps very well hidden. A totally fabulous heroine.....sexy, strong, funny, brave and not a doormat!!! Not afraid to stand up to Dragos......

Review: Secrets at Midnight (Psy-Changeling #12.5) by Nalini Singh (Goodreads Author)
Secrets at Midnight by Nalini Singh
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Secrets at Midnight by Nalini Singh is the #12,5 book in her Psy-Changeling Series and once again, it was more like an okay read than a fab one.........novellas do that to me......I can't really get fully into the characters and story...and before I can...I come to THE END. But being a fan of this series, I have to read everything that comes out!!!
So, in this quick and short read, the hero, Bastien, leopard shifter and one of Mercy's brothers is not one for settling down. He's quite happy to wait until he meets his true mate.
Suddenly, he enounters a scent that tells him is his mate and when he finds her...it turns out that he can't figure her out. Kirby seems human but there's something more to her than what it seems.
The two soon feel that insta-love and then spend the rest of the time trying to solve the mystery of Kirby (view spoiler)[oh, she's a lynx shifter...a very rare kind of shifter (hide spoiler)]
This story was okay....but some parts fell a bit flat.
I am happy to continue visiting this world!!! Can't wait for more adventures!!!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Unchained is book #8,5 in Elisabeth Naughton's fantastic Eternal Guardians Series that combines ancient Greek mythology and the present day..

STANDOFF by Sandra Brown was a bit disappointing.
The plot stretched my imagination....I couldn't really feel anything believable about it and seemed a bit too predictable.
The characters were like cardboard caricatures......I couldn't engage with any of them.....even the main characters.
The dialogue.......stilted.....and not real.
This was supposed to be a romantic suspense story...but where was the romance I ask???? I never felt any chemistry between Tiel McCoy and Dr. Bradley Stanwick.

A good story should transport us to a world beyond ours, where we travel through the lives of the unforgettable characters. A book that leaves you with many experiences.......
A Place in the Sun by R S Grey was one of those books.

There were many things I loved about this book........but the top 3 had to be - Georgie, Gianluca and Italy!

"I found myself in Italy the way I find myself in most places: by chance."
Georgie Archibald
I adored this character!! She's the kind of person I want to be around with. She's like a breath of fresh air. She's open and full of life. Thoughtful, kind, feisty, fun and like me......follows her heart!!! She's impossible not to fall in love with.
Gianluca Dark, brooding and beautiful. Mourning the death of his wife, he's become a loner and a man of a few words. I loved watching him being captivated by the bright and shiny star that was Georgie Archibald!!!
The settings:The settings really brought the story to life - the sensory input - I could smell the sea, taste the croissant and wine, watch the beautiful sunset................ The seaside towns of the Cinque Terre area is one of the my favourite parts of Italy. Vernazza............Monterosso, Riomaggiore, Manarola........ and piazzas. Pulled right into the lives of the locals. Eating gelato, hiking through the little towns, eating fresh strawberries on the beach..............
The secondary characters were just as fun, charming, and enjoyable and Georgie and Gianluca.
Great writing, the story flows beautifully and keeps you captivated long after you've turned the last page. Fab dialogue............humorous, witty an absolute delightful.
What a beautiful and perfect epilogue. It left me with tingles in my heart!!
This is the sweetest and lovable and romantic love story.
Sorry...gotta go....I'm off to Italy........hopefully I will meet up with Georgie & Gianluca and their friends.............

Review: Fire Bound (Sea Haven, #5) by Christine Feehan (Goodreads Author)
Fire Bound by Christine Feehan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
Fire Bound (Sea Haven: Sisters of the Heart Series #5) by Christine Feehan, is spin-off of her Drake Sisters Series.
This series is about six sisters related not by blood but of the heart, who find peace and healing from their violent pasts in the small seaside town of Sea Haven. Each sister possesses a different power of the elements.
Fire Bound focuses on Lissa Piner,
I did like that Lissa was a strong, dangerous and independent character. She was kick-ass, able to take care of herself. She was like a secret agent/spy!!!!
Casmir Prakenskii, one of the 5 Prakenskii brothers, is a mysterious and elusive assassin,
And believe me...there's a lot of bad guys and a lot of killings and a lot of violence too!!
Whilst the previous 4 books are set in Sea Haven, this one is set mainly in Italy, which I loved.....
One of the reasons that drove me nuts in this book.....the sex scenes...hell, some of them are spread over pages and pages and more pages...........in fact, a lot of them could have been left out as there was no need for them to form part of the plot...........after I bit, the scenes became so repetitive that I skimmed over most of them.
Look, I love Christine Feehan and I can't help myself.......even when I read one of her books that I have hated...I still continue waiting and reading for each new book that comes out.
I wasn't jumping up and down with glee when I was reading this book. Yes, it was a bit better than the last one...Earth Bound, which I did not like that much.
My favourites in this series are Water Bound #1 and Air Bound #3.
Fire Bound was, I guess I could say....OKAY!!!

This book does not introduce any new couple pairings. It what does revisit the couples from the previous books and how far their lives have progressed. and woven into a few plot-lines in the story.

I love this series.
Defy the Dawn by Lara Adrian is the 14th book in her Midnight Breeds Series and picks up after the end of Bound to Darkness.

I liked the two main characters. They have great chemistry together.
The world that the author has created has developed amazingly since the 1st book. The characters are interesting and I like the way the series has progressed......we now get to meet the new generation, which keeps the series fresh.
I am enjoying how the Midnight Breed world is changing and evolving and it's great to meet up with familiar characters and meet some new ones.....

You cannot say that I didn't give this series a chance!!!
After reading the first 4 books..........I'm so done!!
With Every Breath, the 4th book in Maya Banks Slow Burn Series.....well, you can say that this one was a little and I mean little bit better than the first 3 books......but really nothing to get excited about.
All the drama......all the internalization...all the inner monologue......and all that thing about the heroine being a total kick-ass .....man....I just want to grab something and throw it against the wall....
So, I have made a final decision..........this is the last book that I will read in this series.
Going back to the authors KGI Series.....so much better!!!

The plot in each book have been pretty much the same.....the characters are like cardboard caricatures.......after a while, they all seem to be the same, say the same things................

Review: Safe at Last (Slow Burn, #3) by Maya Banks (Goodreads Author)
Safe at Last by Maya Banks
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

Safe at Last...#3 in Maya Banks's Slow Burn Series is not doing it for me!!
I have been giving this series a chance. The first 2 books were pretty dismal and the 3rd is not much better!!!
The story started off okay but just never went anywhere. All this second chance at love...and the whole interaction between the hero and heroine was too ridiculous for words.
All that inner dialogue.......just shut up!!!! So bloody annoying. And all the repetition...over and over and over...........
Slow....pretty much says what this series is so far.........sloooooooooow......and a total snooze!!!!
Why am I wasting my precious reading moments on this total loser of a series!!!! I think I will give the next books in this series a miss!!!

Review: In His Keeping (Slow Burn, #2) by Maya Banks (Goodreads Author)
In His Keeping by Maya Banks
My rating: 2 of 5 stars
In His Keeping, the 2nd book in Maya Bank's Slow Burn Series............well, not much better than book #1, Keep Me Safe, which I really did not like at all.
This is Beau Deveraux's story. He meets Arial, another woman with special powers. Naturally he's just as domineering and controlling as the rest of his brothers.
And Ari.....well, talk about a woman who can't make up her mind...should I or shouldn't I kind of stuff!!!!
Insta-love, bad guys, secrets, lies and more and more and more!!!
It was an okay story...just never managed to grab me and keep my attention for more than a couple of minutes....so ....skim some more parts that were repetitive and tedious.
Hell, why am I torturing myself??

Review: Keep Me Safe (Slow Burn #1) by Maya Banks (Goodreads Author)
Keep Me Safe by Maya Banks
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
The 1st book in Maya Banks Slow Burn Series.
This was such a disappointment - nothing excited me!!!
I found the characters totally unlikeable.........the heroine is a total wimp...always whining and moaning. The hero....let me not start!!! This is the most controlling and irritating man ever!!! The whole thing of feeling "bad" because he caused the heroine so much pain.........pleeeeezzzzzzzzzzzz.....
The plot....so over the top and totally unbelievable.
I am not convinced about this series. Maybe I should give it a chance and read book #2.

Review: Dark Carousel (Dark #30) by Christine Feehan (Goodreads Author)
Dark Carousel by Christine Feehan
My rating: 1 of 5 stars
Dark Carousel by Christine Feehan is the 30th book in her Dark Series and it's totally unforgettable!!!!
I cannot believe how this series has gone downhill - I am totally sad that this has happened, but the last 3 or 4 books have just not done it for me. Was I hoping that this book would be beyond awesome????
It's just that when a new book appears, I keep hoping that this will be the AWESOME one.
So now we have the American Carpathians........OMG ....please get me back to the Carpathians in Europe!!!!!
I couldn't give a "toss" about the hero, Tariq Asenguard and his pals and his club.....and the heroine... Charlotte Vintage - well, I did like her name...but the whole carousel thing...was just soooooooooooooooo boring..........
I did like seeing the characters from previous books...but there wasn't enough of my favourite ones!!!
And all those sex scenes........repetitive, repetitive......boring....boring...boring!!!!!
I am totally invested in this series, so I am going to hold my breath in the hope that the next one will be more exciting.
