A Virgin for Vasquez by Cathy Williams is another story of revenge.

Javier had been discarded by Sophie years ago. She came from money....he did not!!

Years later, the tables have turned. He's now rich and powerful and Sophie needs his help because she and her brother have been left destitute.

I just couldn't connect with the two main characters.

I found it really hard to get into this book and struggled to finish it.

It was an okay read...nothing exciting.

The plot was totally so not believable.

The heroine was one of the most stupid women ever!!!! The things she got up to gave me a flipping headache.
The hero...well, I suppose he was okay...but really....what he got up to in the jungles of somewhere in South America...see I've forgotten where this damn story is set!!!

Yeah, I totally unforgettable story and characters.

A plot filled with unexpected twists and surprises.

I fell in love with both Raffaele and Lily. They just tugged at my heartstrings. Their journey is filled with emotion and I loved the way that they were able to bring something special in each other. Loved their interaction and how they challenged each other. And their chemistry!!!!

The scenes in the New York penthouse were absolutely incredible. How Lily tried to hide away from Raffaele....sitting in the dark in the garden!!!

More heart tugs....

Incredibly beautiful and unforgettable story that makes you want to believe that love conquers all.

It's no secret that I am a huge fan of Kate Hewitt and her latest book, Moretti’s Marriage Command is yet another well written and enjoyable story.

Luca Moretti demands that his PA, Hannah Stewart accompany him on a business trip. He has an ulterior motive .....which she discovers when they arrive at meeting location and she's introduced as his fiancée....the first she's heard about her status!!!

Hannah has worked for Luca for a few years. Her life is dedicated to her son. She has been denying her attraction for her boss but when she finds herself in an exotic location with him, she's unable to hide her feelings.

I enjoyed the chemistry between the two.
Although I felt a bit dubious about Luca and his revenge plans, I did warm up to him in the end.

Hannah was quite a remarkable woman - I could relate to her a lot. Strong, dedicated and independent. I liked that she was able to show Luca that there was more to life than being filled with bitterness and hatred for what had happened in his childhood.

Sweet, passionate and very enjoyable story.

Marriage In Name Only by Anne Oliver opening scene is totally fabulous!!!!

Chloe Montgomery's first encounter with the hero, Jordan Blackstone, is truly hilarious and unforgettable!!

Okay, the hero needs a fake wife so that he can win a biggggggggg account from an Arab sheikh in Dubai. The heroine needs money to get back into her family's good books!!!

So off they go to Dubai, where naturally the hero becomes captivated with the heroine. Yes, they have an agreement...no love or emotions...after the deal is completed, they will go their separate ways!!!

But wait, the two can't resist the romantic aura of the Dubai desert and fabulicious hotel.....and soon, old Jake wants to go all the way...

Of course, Chloe soon discovers that Jake is nothing like the rats she had met before!!! And yes, she falls into the magic world of Jake Blackstone!!!

But as we know, life is always filled with obstacles along the way!!

Chloe takes charge of her life!! Poor Jake is pining away..........will these two ever find their HEA?????

Of course they do~~~this is Mills & Boon after all....that's why we read these stories

Actually, this was rather an enjoyable read!!

The story lacked inspiration and felt so outdated..........it felt more like it took place 20 years ago.

The main characters....where was the chemistry???? I couldn't find it anywhere.

The Sinner's Marriage Redemption by Annie West is the 5th book in the Seven Sexy Sins Series...............wow....was this one a sloooooooow one for me!!!

I almost gave up a few times....bored most of the way but kept hoping something great would happen!!! But noooooooooooo.....it never did.

The story started off with some promise but by chapter 2.....I kept missing the plot!!!!

Flynn Marshall, the hero who happens to be the son of the housekeeper who worked for Ava, the heroine's rich family. He returns years later, now rich and very successful and woos Ava, who is now not so rich anymore!!! Naturally, he has a second agenda!!!

He proposes, she says yes!!!! She loves him, he doesn't love her!!!! Hell, he was pretty cold towards her most of the time.........and she took it all in!!! What an idiot!! Okay, so she does grow some backbone at the end and he comes crawling back....I mean, the gesture he makes to get her back is totally so not believable (view spoiler)[he signs over his fortune to her........... (hide spoiler)]

Would someone actually do such a thing??? Girl, I think not!!!

This has not been a very successful series for me!!

The Last Mile, David Baldacci's 2nd book in his Amos Decker Series is a compelling and complex mystery filled with conspiracies, racial injustices and some pretty evil characters.

I liked this book more than the 1st, The Memory Man https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

The characters are well developed and Decker is desperate to saving a man on death row that he believes is innocent.

Well paced plot filled with twists and turns and some unexpected surprises.

A good read.

Bay of Sighs is the 2nd book in Nora Roberts latest The Guardians Trilogy.
I was not impressed with the follow-up to book 1, Stars of Fortune.... https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... which I loved.

Annika and Sawyer's story just dragged on most of the time....okay, the Isle of Capri setting...

...fabulous!!!

But....
all that training going on....and on....and on!!! All the mermaid and sex and penis jokes...........after a while....just got boring and more boring!! Even the evil goddess Nerezza became a drag!!

The mermaid Annika and time traveller Sawyer romance never felt real to me!!! There was something lacking between them!!!

The only parts I liked were about Annika

.......she was beyond adorable.........her love for shopping, bright baubles and table settings - totally endearing!!!

I felt disconnected with this story and what I am now looking forward to is Riley and Doyle's book.....hopefully it will be a "blast."

Faithless, the 5th book in Karin Slaughter's Grant County Series brings back the small town medical examiner, Dr Sara Linton and ex husband Grant County chief of police, in a complex and gripping tale of murder, religious cults, family abuse, secrets and a remorseless killer that keeps your guessing until the very end.

This series is gritty with flawed and interesting characters that are very well developed. The small town settings are vividly written - I would feel the menace and danger swirling around!!!

I've read this series a few times and I find it just as great as the first time.

This series should be read in book order:

2) Kisscut
3) A Faint Cold Fear
4) Indelible
5) Faithless
6) Beyond Reach

Kisscut, the 2nd novel in Karin Slaughter's Grant County Series opens with a shocking and horrific scene. The fatal shooting of a teenage girl by the local police chief, Jeffrey Tolliver leads to the gruesome discovery of pedophilia, incest and children's porn right in the small town.

This was a really shocking and unsettling story of child abuse, secrets and depravity with some really disturbing scenes. The author created such a feeling of menace and evil in the town that had me on the edge of my seat.

The ending is even more unexpected than what I was expecting. Wow....

This is the 2nd time I have read this book and it "freaked" me out just as much as the first time.
